Here's the last one: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...-pmps-376-increase-again.221740/#post-2477956

I've held Lilly's dose on 2.5u for 8 cycles now, since she's had her first couple of experiences of holding and being able to surf a bit!!! Even some greens!! I didn't take the reduction on 11/17 because I felt that it was only because she didn't eat well that she dropped that much. What do I do now? Continue holding this dose? I'm honestly a little nervous to increase it with how much monitoring she's needed and we've needed to stay up later. I appreciate your help!

If you're working and not at home to monitor until the weekend? then I'd hold this dose for a couple more days - she did after all give you a nice bit of surfing the other night - which is promising. But with TR she could have an increase after 6 cycles of nadirs above 200. It would be good to be at home with her when you increase just to see if she'll respond. Would you be able to increase on Friday evening by .25 - and monitor her more closely.

What do you think?

Ask the question, how low is this dose taking Lily? Do you have room for an increase? I would wait to see where she goes after this next bounce clears. Even the 70’s on an AT doesn’t give you a lot of room.

that's what I'm afraid of, @Wendy&Neko. I'm shy about increasing it because shes come close to earning a reduction but we've guided it with MC food, which we can't do after about noon and we just can't keep staying up like we have been.

Am I not seeing something correctly on the spreadsheet? Her daytime nadirs have been in the blues as well, as low as 119, except when she's on a bounce.
Yep I see what you are seeing.
Just more recently it's been at night, in my experience they can sometimes have green cycles at night sometimes in the day.

As Wendy said above.

How low is the dose taking Lily? Is there room to take the dose up?

With her latest nadirs in the 70's with an AT there's not really room for an increase.
She's bouncing at the moment, this is normal, and just her bodies reaction from spending a little time in those green numbers/dropping fast.
We want to see if she can still get back into those greens once the bounce clears before messing with the dose.

She cleared her last bounce on the 4th cycle, (she stayed in high numbers for three cycles/ before dropping into greens again on the 4th) so if I had to 'guess' I imagine you will know by the pm cycle of 11/21

I notice that lately you haven't been getting a +1/+2
The number in either test when compared to the PS number is usually a great indicator of how active a cycle may turn out to be, in the mornings when you need to leave for work, are you able to get either a +1 or a +2?

Remind me, now your fiance is working in the pm.
  • What is your ability to monitor in the am?
  • Do you have autofeeder?
  • Does she freefeed? What is her usual feeding schedule

Right you are! She cleared that bounce by PMPS tonight! Let's see how things go tonight...

I can't get a +1 or +2 because I have to shoot at the last minute so that I can make it home as close to +12 as I can (that's why her PM shots have been late, since my fiance is working afternoons/evenings). I could ask him to get up early a few mornings to try to get a +1 or +2 here and there, but he sleeps in because he works later. I definitely can start getting some +1 or +2 in the evenings, though!

Ability to monitor her in the mornings is good, but my fiance leaves for work around +5. Ability to monitor in the evenings is about the same. Later in her cycles are harder for us.
I don't have an auto feeder. I tried early on to put her on scheduled meals (2 and 3 per day), but she never eats much in a single serving and doesn't do well with the scheduling for some reason. So, yes, now we free feed. We put down 1.5 cans LC FF pate right after each shot and allow her to eat as she pleases all day. Her appetite is pretty variable, though. Sometimes she's not even interested in the food when I put it down, even when she's been out of food for several hours at a time. She's never been the stereotypical "starving" diabetic kitty, even pre-insulin.

Housekeeping note, I know I'm supposed to start a new cat condo every day, but I can't access the forum from work, so I end up replying many many hours after my initial post. I'm not sure the best way to handle that, so I just replied here.
