10/8 Blaze AMPS 422, +6 429, PMPS 348, +2 307, +3 265

Great job last night Sarah! You did awesome considering all of the information that was thrown your way and what you had to absorb. I will say, nice to see Blaze in those numbers!

I hope 0.75u works for you this time and that Blaze clears his bounce quickly :)

Have an awesome day :joyful:

Thanks Amanda! I hope Blaze likes this dose those time around but it might take him a few days to clear the bounce so I will have to wait and see!

Have a good day!

Thanks! For what it’s worth sometimes I’m really sure after 4 days that a dose won’t work and then all of the sudden Mowgli will make his move ... I will look for an example of this in my SS for you :)

Ya, I think he was starting to clear his bounce last night AND I increased the dose, hence the lower numbers and the bounce today. It all makes sense!

I hope Blaze comes back down soon. Sometimes it's hard to see patterns and know if you should increase or not.

Well, goodness, on the drama today, Blaze!!

Sarah..it’s also possible the bounce is a little accentuated by the HC/MC decreasing duration. That’s ok. You needed sleep and he was safe.

In reality, I am certain he’s going to need 1u but as long as you are doing SLGS, we need to give him the required time. I know you’ve been mulling over TR so tag one of us if you decide to do it. I believe the post on working and doing TR has been previously linked. I worked full-time for a year and part-time 3.5 years and did TR but I also had an equal FD partner in my DH.

Any chance you can enlist your DH on testing, etc, so you can think about TR?

Yes I have thought about TR but I have some reservations about it. One thing is, I cannot have multiple nights a week like last night, where I am up until 12am-1am or later on work nights. I am DRAGGING today, I cannot function on little sleep, I ultimately suffer if I don’t get enough sleep, so TR scares me because it seems like a lot more often you are having late nights.

Another thing, not being able to stall food or shots. I either have to test/feed/shoot or skip the shot or give a reduced dose, with the possibility of not being able to come home at lunch every day. I start work at different times:
Monday & Tuesday 7:45am
Wednesday 8am
Thursday 7am
So my test/feed/shoot time is at 6:30am/pm to accommodate my different work schedules.

DH is a big help, but he will not stay up to test Blaze throughout the night, so that would always be on me.

So because of those reasons, I just don’t know if I can make TR work.

Sounds like you have a busy schedule. Do your best - like I said yesterday, YOU are the best person to judge that. Safety first... :)
Yes it’s a busy. I’m off by 5 but like to go to the gym at 5:30 after work, I want to continue to do these things for myself to keep myself happy and sane. I’m going to continue with SLGS, I’m not ready for TR yet. Maybe in December when I have two weeks off from work.

I admire you for going to the gym after work! I'm so tired by 5 p.m. that thought wouldn't even cross my mind :)
Well I’m definitely too tired to go today, after last nights shenanigans with Blaze. But on a normal day, I try to go to the gym after work. Since Blaze’s diagnosis, I have gone to the gym a lot less though :( I’m trying my best to make it all work.

I hear ya...I've made a lot of sacrifices for Luci - I have a non-existent social life now...I turn down just about every invitation I get - for anything - mostly because people want to do things around dinner time - and I have Luci test/feed/shoot at 6:30 every day, 365...so getting together with friends in the evening is pretty much out...unless they want to meet a bit later...nowadays they don't bother calling me...they all know I'm tied up...and they don't really want to go later...they want to go on their way home from work or shortly after work...just about 5:30 or 6...at which time I'd have to get up and leave...

So I hear ya...being sleep deprived...and socially isolated...oh well...I try to make the best of it. :D

Oh I hear ya! I don’t do anything on work nights but it’s very limited on weekends too. I either have to be home by 6:30 or head out after test/feed/shot at 6:30. DH is helpful with t/f/s when I know I won’t be home by 6:30-6:45pm but it’s not something he wants to do every night. It it what it is.

The other thing that might make TR easier to manage on your schedule down the road would be if Blaze starts to settle down on his bouncing and have flatter, more predictable cycles. Only time will tell if he'll be cooperative like that (some kitties just loooove their trampolines!), but at the very least, whatever his patterns on Lantus are, you'll know them a lot better in a few months.

It is so hard to be patient with all of this, I know. My first month or so, I was doing things like buying brand new Lantus pens because I was convinced the one I had must have gone bad . Just took time-- and I didn't even have a bouncy cat to deal with!

Yes Nan! Totally agree! I think in another month or two, I might feel better about starting TR. But for now, I think it’s best to stay in SLGS to learn more about his patterns and hopefully get him to settle down on all the bouncing! I am very interested in trying TR but want to do it at the right now for me and Blaze. Thankfully I have so many wonderful people to help me through when I decide to start!

It is definitely hard to be patient but I am trying my very best!!:arghh:

Good for you on getting in workouts. It is so important to have a way to relieve stress. I used to do my workouts in the morning, and get back in time for AMPS. Bonus was that my alarm for workout allowed me to get around a +9 check on my late nadir girl. My 7:30 shot time allowed me to go to friends for appies and dinner, then they’d relax and make coffee while I dashed home for PMPS and back in time for dessert.

Gave a little bit of MC instead at +2 just to be safe. I’m exhausted and can’t keep my eyes open to keep testing tonight. Left snacks in the auto feeder for +3, +4 and +5 and he has the snack at +2. Hope that’s okay for tonight.
