No she's not anymore. Menace is in remission. I just test her once a week now to make sure she isn't backsliding.

So happy for Menace!! I'll talk to you tomorrow. Have a good nightNo she's not anymore. Menace is in remission. I just test her once a week now to make sure she isn't backsliding.![]()
Yes it was out for hours, how do you think I did on decideing what dose to go with @MrWorfMen's MomThanks. I have Tyler's SS on my drive so I just checked on him there to satisfy my curiosity when I couldn't get on the board! The board usually goes out between 7:30 & 8am for a few minutes every day, I presume for backup purposes but today it was out for hours! Must have had a glitch needed fixing!
Thank you Linda, it's all because of you teaching me what to do and explaining everything to meWhen I looked I smiled and said "she's got this!". Trust yourself and if you are really unsure, then be conservative.![]()

Hey Linda, I'll go with the skinny 0.5 , I'll talk to you later, stay coolAs long as you can monitor Tyler, you can try a slightly higher dose and see if that works better. A skinny 0.5u seems a good option.![]()
Hey I went with the 0.75 skinny, I will be here to monitor, yes that yellow was a mysteryIf you an monitor you can try the skinny 0.75u but if noise is going to be ongoing I'd stick with the fat 0.5.![]()
Tyler says thank lol, I just love the little brown spot on his nose. He is sitting on an old vintage school desk that my husband found many years ago and re finished it for Ashley when she was little. I had to cover it with a pillow case because both Tyler and Perry kept jumping on it and making scratch marks @MrWorfMen's MomLove your new avatar. Tyler looks so cute on that turquoise table. Definitely his colour!![]()
@MrWorfMen's Mom just tested Tyler @+2.5 it was 71! Just fed him some FF Pate, when do you think I should test him again, it's now 12:25 am @MrWorfMen's MomOkey dokey! Sounds good!![]()
@MrWorfMen's Mom Hi Linda sorry for the late response, what a day, short story the young girl and her boyfriend who live above me and are constantly making noise and their kid is always running back and forth all day long. I told them about Ashley when the they moved in and asked them to be considerate, because of her disease and noise makes her worse. It's a four family and the other tenants are great. I have called the cops on them about 5 times already and even one of the cops saw the kid spinning around and throwing hetsehe on the floor. It's an old house and you can hear everythingSorry I was sawing logs when you posted last night. WOW! So now you know you need to be a little more conservative at night in case Tyler decides to get frisky and really work the juice. He was still safe at 71 but lower than you want him to be and too close to the "action needed" number on your AT2. You did great and he came back up on the low carb food which is great. The only thing I would have done differently would be to test again sooner than an hour (max 30 minutes) after the lowish reading. He could have gone even lower in that 1 1/4 hours between tests.
In case of this happening again though, I'd suggest you keep some wet medium and high carb food on hand rather than relying on the low carb and Dr. Elsey. Dr. E's is not only lower carb but dry food takes longer to hit the system. For the longest time I had nothing but kibble to use with my girl because that's all she would eat but I found out the hard way she likes sugar donuts so I kept a supply in my freezer and always kept one thawed and waiting on a saucer just in case I ever got a really low reading that wasn't going to wait for kibble to click in. Trying to get honey or karo into Menace always ended in both of us wearing it!
As for the yellow this AM, Tyler is bouncing a bit and will come back down to earth soon.![]()
I went to school with the landlord, he's a piece of s**t. Went to school with his wife also. They are worth a fortune. I spoke to him several times and he said they told him they ateare doing anything out of the normal.argh !!
one upon a time I lived in an apartment, and a football player had the apartment above
starting at 5 or 6 every morning, he worked out with barbells, did jumping exercises -- this went on, off and on, until 11 at night
I was pregnant ....
fortunately my husband, who was working in Alaska, came back with enough money that we could move ...
so, I feel for you! yes keep on calling the cops -- and what about the landlord? if they're slamming things onto the floor and into the walls, they are probably damaging the property -- could be cause for terminating their occupancy
Hi Linda, I'm going to test his PMPS in then minutes, 8:30 pm, I'll put it in the SS immediately, and we can see what dose to give ok! @MrWorfMen's MomOh the problems of living in a multi household dwelling! People are so callous and unconcerned about anybody but themselves. I take it from the young children in the picture that the so called adults are much younger people than us, many of whom seem to think their "needs" outweigh anyone else's. And goodness knows none of us would have been let away with what parents today let their kids do. I am so glad you were able to hold your anger and can only imagine what was going through your mind. I would have been in serious trouble. I don't hold my tongue well at all in the face of utter stupidity. At least you got a reasonable judge who now realizes that family is trouble and it will all be documented.
Anything about 11 to 15% would be medium carb and anything over 15% high carb. If Tyler won't eat anything but pate, you can look for something that has potatoes in it for higher carb without it necessarily be gravy style. I think there are also some of the medleys or something similar in FF that might fit the bill. I had a one flavour wonder too, so I used kibble and sugar donuts. You just do what you have to do to keep them safe.
Tyler may be bouncing a wee bit today after that lower green yesterday so not to worry. He's doing great thanks to the care he's getting and you deserve a medal for your patience with everything you are dealing with. Go get yourself a treat.....chocolate, wine whatever! You've earned it!

Well sounds to me like Mom could use a bit of break today so I don't think I'd try the skinny 0.75u again tonight. Who knows whether Tyler's pancreas just decided to jump into action more or what but he definitely worked the juice last night. How about 0.5u on the line, Mom gets some rest and Tyler doesn't get poked any more than absolutely necessary?![]()
Sounds good to me, I wonder if not feeding @+1 like we did before had anything to do with him dropping so low, but probably not right? @MrWorfMen's Momdid you see my other question about higher carbs would pouring the gravy in his Pate work just as well if I ever needed to use itWell sounds to me like Mom could use a bit of break today so I don't think I'd try the skinny 0.75u again tonight. Who knows whether Tyler's pancreas just decided to jump into action more or what but he definitely worked the juice last night. Morning Linda, ok with the dosage, if ever needed I'll drain the heck out of the can lol, thanks, will talk to you later my friend @MrWorfMen's MomYes that sounds like a good dose for this morning.
You can certainly try putting the gravy on the pate but I would try the gravy by itself. Drain the gravy off into a saucer or bowl and see if Tyler will lap it up a tsp to tbsp. of it (no chewing required!) If he will lap it up that's all you need to give him for a quick boost without filling him up with food. I wouldn't pour it on the pate because if he doesn't like it he might then refuse to eat his pate and that would be a big problem particularly if you are trying to get his BG up.

Thanks , of course my vet told me in the very beginning when I did his one and only curve, do not feed, oh well, I'm glad I asked if I ever do one @MrWorfMen's MomExactly and yes you feed Tyler as usual while doing a curve.
You are absolutely correct! Lol poor Tyler was starving.I'm guessing your vet probably wanted you to feed Tyler 2 meals a day, only before shots too so it follows the curve would be done the same way. The old school wisdom was that you push a pile of food on kitty twice daily and let kitty starve the rest of the day probably based largely on the fast early drops in BG caused by Vetsulin in many kitties. We now know that isn't the best way to handle feeding.![]()
Thanks I was a little bit nervous shooting the 0.75 skinny tonight, I remembered what you said, if not sure then be conservative. You must be tired doing all the yard work, plus the weather can knock you outSorry. I fell asleep on my sofa watching the "political" event of the day which I taped! Apparently it wasn't rousing enough to keep me awake. Seriously though, just zonked out from the lawn work and dealing with the kid who cuts it for me.
Good choice going with the fat 0.5u dose. You can try the 0.75u again on that kind of pre-shot during the day if you like but I'd try it there first before doing a night experiment.
Yes today wasn't bad here either, I actually just shut my air cicondition off.Actually today was quite pleasant. I don't mind the heat and it was only about 80 or so ....it's the humidity and thankfully we are getting a little reprieve from that until the weekend. I think my "tired" is more from dealing with the kid who cuts the lawn while I putz with the weeds, pond and fountain. He has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and is somewhat ADHD. I'm beginning to think he may not be taking his medication again because he has been a bit more of handful the last few weeks. I sometimes wonder how he doesn't drive his mother totally off the deep end leaving garbage around and jumping from one task to another so I have been having to keep more tabs on him lately.![]()
Oh my God just read about Menace, that's so funny, our kitties are just so crazy, gotta love them. I just tested Tyler it's on the SSOh Perry doesn't surprise me at all. I don't believe for one moment that cats can't taste sweet. I had a cat who liked cottage cheese but only if I had pineapple on it. Another loved jelly rolls. And then there is Menace. Wouldn't touch any food that didn't crunch from the time she was a kitten till 2+ years into our diabetic journey. She picked up a piece of tortiere off the floor one day and ate it. I gave her another piece thinking perhaps I could get her to eat soft food but no.....the offered bit wasn't apparently to her liking. But then came the peanut butter sandwich. If you need a good laugh I posted about it HERE because everyone knew what a reticent little kibble head she was. Shortly after the PB sandwich, I caught her nibbling on a sugar donut I left sitting on the table which actually worked to my advantage because I finally had something other than karo or kibble to get her BG up if she went too low!![]()
