TYLER'S JOURNEY #5

Yes I think I would continue feeding at +1. Look at last night's cycle with Tyler's nadir appearing to be around +6. Every cycle may not be the same but it does appear he's getting a little more mileage with the earlier feeding. The PMPS last night and AMPS today being the same can happen. It makes for a nice smooth cycle to cycle. You could do the skinny 0.75u again or try a fat 0.5u and see what he does.
Ok I'll go with the skinny 0.75 skinny again and will check in later stay cool today and kiss your fur babies for me, I hope Myster is doing ok @MrWorfMen's Mom

Told you there would be some more green in Tyler's future. Good idea to feed him a bit to keep him from dropping much more and hopefully keep him surfing in the green for a bit!

Your goal for Tyler! LOL! Is this guy surfing in time with the music?

but then, I was living in northern California at the time .. no surfing there, just dry heat in the summer, tule fogs in the winter

My very first concert was the Beatles sitting up in the rafters in a huge venue with girls fainting all around us. Most ridiculous situation I have ever seen. Couldn't see or hear a darn thing (screaming girls OY!) Put me right off concerts of any extremely "popular" groups. Have to admit, I had a real crush on Paul McCartney and I did like their music back then. Now while a few choice songs of their later music is good, I have to question my "younger" taste when I hear "She Loves You!

Lol I would watch videos of them when the girls would be fainting and they were being carried out, I did like a few of their songs though. One person I wished I saw was Elvis Presley when he was young, but I was too young then. When he was all dressed in black leather and was sitting on a small stage and all the girls were sitting around him. Oh my God lol It was the television special on NBC aired 12-3-1968 it marked his return to live performance after 7 yrs during which his career was centered around the movie business

HAHAHA! While I can listen to Elvis, his gyrations and what I perceived as being a little full of himself, always drove me crazy and not in a good way. I too was a little too young to have been caught up in his heyday!

maybe I went more for musicianship rather than flash -- mostly big band, early jazz, and light classical played around our house, then I was allowed to listen to the radio at bedtime, mostly 50s ballads (Wayward Wind, Ramblin' Rose, etc); later my cousin, eight years older, introduced me to folk music (Kingston Trio, Limelighters, Brothers 4, etc)

listened more to Glenn Yarbrough than John Denver .. just loved Chad Mitchell Trio

college concerts (no screaming!) -- Harry Belafonte, Herb Alpert, Judy Collins

I went to school with Lynn Anderson ("Rose Garden", etc), was in chorus with her Mrs. Phillips made us both lip-synch -- Lynn because she "didn't blend" and me because my voice was changing, no longer a soprano but couldn't "hear" the alto line after all the years I'd been singing in church choirs

@MrWorfMen's Mom just tested at +5
+5 - 100 filled it in on #52
Now I don't know why I just thought of this lol
For an example say I shoot his morning insulin at 9:00 am
Ok +1 would be at 10:00 am
+2 would be at 11:00 am
+3 would be at 12:00 noon
+4 would be at 1:00 pm
All of a sudden I just thought about when I feed him @+1 which would have been at 10:00 am right?
Now when I test him let's say at +5 it would be at 2:00 pm because I'm going by when I gave him his Insulin,
I don't go by the +1 just because I fed him do you get what I'm trying to say @MrWorfMen's Mom

All of the pluses with a number that I use are based on the time since the insulin was given. Does that help.
Ok so I always go by when the insulin was given, so I'm doing it correctly when it comes to the feeding @+1
Just tested @+6 - 114 added it to #52 again @MrWorfMen's Mom
I just wanted to put Tyler's Birthday in the signature , but stopped , did I screw it up, can you still see his SS @MrWorfMen's Mom

With meter variance, while it looks like he's gone up a wee bit, it could just be meter variance so he's still having a good cycle.

Yes I agree with your dose choice. I was hoping he'd do his extra little drop at the back end of the cycle but looks like he skipped it today. o_O

@MrWorfMen's Mom morning Linda
Ashley has a doctor's appointment this afternoon at 2:30 pm have to leave at 2:00 pm
Here's what it is
First , can I shoot this morning at 9:00 am, last night I shot at 9:30pm
Here's why if I can shoot at 9:00 am and feed @+1 (10:00 am)
I can then test @+3 which will be (12:00 noon) and feed FF
Then I can test at +5 which will be at (2:00 pm) before I leave and feed him
I should be home by +7 which would be (4:00 pm )
Do you think that would be ok , or do you think shooting at 9:00 am is to early @MrWorfMen's Mom just tested at 8:30 am
FRIDAY 7-12-19
AMPS - 153 do you think skinny 0.75 is ok since of the changes I'm making just for today @MrWorfMen's Mom Pretty good cycle last night wouldn't you say since he ended with 149 @+10

Yes you can shoot up an hour early as long as BG is high enough. I might go with a fat 0.5u today only because if you are out and he did happen to go lower, you don't want to be chasing numbers while trying to run out the door. You'd probably be fine with the higher dose but Tyler has been hitting a good green with that dose and there is always the potential for him to go a little lower than ideal.

Ok I'll shoot the fat 0.5 u , I filled in his AMPS on the SS 153
He had a good run last night wouldn't you say @MrWorfMen's Mom

THURSDAY 7-12-19
AMPS - 153 shot 0.5 fat
+1 feed him FF
+3 - 101 no food given
+4.5 - 110. Headed out to doctors so I figured I'd give him some FF

All depends on your ability/desire to monitor. Either a skinny 0.75u or a fat 0.5 IMHO. We all need some sleep and you need to look after you as well if not better than you look after Tyler. :)

He did just fine today. I applaud your decision. Too often we get caught up in getting kitty into optimal range when our energy is being depleted. I did it and regretted it sometimes so I always try to encourage folks to realize this has to be a balance between kitty and caregiver. :):)

Thank you, but I thank you for suggesting going with the fat 0.5 u this morning since I would be at the doctor's.You are absolutely right, I getting a little bit run down lol. While I'm sitting here looking at the clock for his next test, he's sleeping away nice and cozy lol. On another note did you happen to see the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, about Freddie Mercury and Queen, the guy that played him was amazing ,he got his mannerisms down pat. Freddie was such an amazing performer and what a voice. It seemed like he was a very lonely person though. So sad @MrWorfMen's Mom

I was never a big fan of rock so never paid much attention to Queen although I did enjoy "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Are the Champions". Other than that I have no clue what they sang/wrote. Rock was hubbie's domain. I'm more of a folk, soul, reggae, country and a bit of classical music style girl. So I never saw the movie nor would I have known whether the actor got the mannerisms down pat. LOL! EHID!

Too often I think we forget about ourselves and we don't realize how run down we are getting. I was on my own with Menace and remember getting sick (thankfully doesn't happen often) and trying to deal with her and thinking I did this to myself by not taking ME into consideration. It's Ok to be a little selfish sometimes to recharge your batteries. You have your DD to worry about too and all of that can take it's toll. Be kind to yourself. Tyler will be fine....he's looking great!

You absolutely right, between my daughter, Tyler and his brother Perry the one with kidney disease and seizures, I don't know if I'm coming or going. Perry gets one liquid med at 7 am , 3pm and 11 pm. The another liquid med at 9 am and 9 pm. Then he gets cerenia at 6:30 am. I feel like a nurse with the cart handing out meds lol. I'm definitely going to start taking better care of myself. I don't work so once in awhile I'll take a little nap and just set my alarm for which cat has to get their meds or Tyler needs to get tested. Then between housework, laundry, food shopping and cooking for my father I'm exhausted. From now on I'm going to chill. Thanks for the kind words ok it's almost time to test Tyler @+3 @MrWorfMen's Mom

SATURDAY 7-13-19
AMPS - 223 surprised he's this high? What do you think ? Skinny 0.75 or fat 0.5 u @MrWorfMen's Momhad to test early because have to leave the house because of the guy mowing the lawn, Ashley with the noise level.
Tyler got done eating at 8:35 am, what is the latest I can shoot @MrWorfMen's Mom
I know you said I can shoot up an hour early as long as BG is high enough, but what is the latest I can shoot after eating

You can shoot anytime 30 minutes after the food and if you have to delay his shot, you can just make sure he has food on his tummy for bit and shoot whenever you can.

That 223 could be telling us he needs a little more insulin OR it could mean he went a little lower last night than we know about and is bouncing. I think you can give him a skinny 0.75u as long as you will be able to test within 3 to 4 hours post shot.
