Sudden change in Sheldon's #'s

Hi there, I haven't been posting often as Sheldon's bg has been pretty boring, but the last few days have been suddenly interesting!! His numbers are looking better than ever....and I'm concerned, lol. I have a new vet, seemed promising, but she believes dosing should be based on a random morning pretest. That seems weird to me. She wanted me to up his dose from 1.5 to 2 without looking at his spreadsheet. (She would of noticed a sudden low # if she had. Well of course he now decides to throw me some lower than ever #'s so I only upped it to 1.75. Now I'm thinking I need to decrease!! His preshot tonight was 5.1 (92) I didnt dose. His +6 was 8 (144)? I'm loving these sudden, consistently low numbers as he was VERY prone to bouncing but now I'm not sure how to proceed? Do I dose maybe later tonight? Do I decrease?

First it's best to make dose changes in 0.25 increments so you don't miss a good dose by going up too fast. Going to 1.75 units was a good call. Dosing needs to be based on the nadir to keep your cat safe.

Your signature line doesn't state if you are following TR or SLGS. If you are following SLGS, Sheldon earned a reduction with the 65 on 5/23. If you are following TR, you would hold the dose. He would earn a reduction if he goes below 50.

Thank you. I've settled on SLGS as I'm just not around consistently enough for the tight protocol, and no one else here wants the job (let's be honest they think I'm nuts) I hated going against the advice of this new vet, but when I realized she wasn't looking at the spreadsheet, just one random number my faith in her went down the drain!! I did reduce last night in the end, to 1.5, after waiting 2hrs for his # to go up (12.4 or 223), so I'll see where that puts him this am. I'll send the info to the vet, maybe she'll actually look at it. I can't even enjoy the good numbers!! Maybe I am nuts, lol
