I had checked him at around 6:50 and he was at 41. Hes now up to 122 after some food but he got severly mad at me the last blood test. Hes honestly getting annoyed with me testing his ear and I dont know if its affecting his levels. I have tried the polysporin and aiming to the outside edge, he still growls and hisses. I am checking him as much as I can when I am at home as I dont want him to end up hating me. Given he is still pretty low should i skip his dose tonight and test again in the morning? I really dont want a crisis if it can be avoided.

I would like to state as well if I do give him his shot at this point tonight it would be less than 12 hours until I have to go to work tomorrow so I doubt giving him his morning shot would work.

Hi, I'm quite new still so won't give dosing advice except to say that if you fed to bring him up from 2.3 (which was the right thing to do), his BG levels are falsely elevated (from the food) so it is not safe to shoot yet if at all tonight, please wait for advice from someone who is experienced. To get a faster response, put a ? in your title by using the drop-down menu...if you need help immediately or asap, use the 911.Both grab eyes earlier as people scan for them. HTH, with love, Nikki

Yes I have skipped the dose for tonight as it wouldnt have worked with my schedule for him at this point. I will be testing him again in a few moments I just wanted to give him some time as he was beyond frustrated with me earlier.

ok, i would advise to also do another test in 1/2 to 1 hr depending on his number, as 2.3 is quite low and the carbs used to get Dax up will wear off, so he may need more carbs to keep him up. The 2.3 earned a reduction.

Yes I have some high carb food on hand.

Hes up to 14 now. But I did give him a little bit of high carb food just after I measured him at 6.9. So i will continue to monitor, he's acting his normal self and Im sure by the way he's trying to steal my ice cream he wouldn't deny more food either lol

That 41 could have been a bad strip. If he will let you it’s best to retest when that happens. Since your morning test would tave been less tgann12 hoyrsvurs good you skipped. Put NS in the dose box. I’d still get a before bed test. If that 41 was right he could drop again.

ok, 14 is fine lol but do continue to monitor. From what I understand, you usually won't need to feed HC unless he's under 2.8. If he isn't bouncing and drops down to 4s or so, try a tsp or two of LC, but I don't know if that will happen (have no experience with bouncy kitties lol). And if anyone offers different advice, likely take theirs over mine as I'm new to this too :)

Yes I plan on doing one at the 2 hour, and three hour to get a grip if hes bouncing around or not. Yes I was afraid he would be much too low in the morning to shoot and I was afraid the 2.3 was just a false reading. Bad strip is totally possible. I have had a few that have read me errors. With how expensive they are you would think they would work 100% of the time lol
