Is that what the 'IM"s I see on the ss indicate? We used humulin in hospital for Ming and injected it IM when his BG was too high. Is that humulin r? Is that what it means to be in bolus?
I don’t have any at home of course or know how to get it.
Whats your gut feeling?NN was thinking doing 5 units. IM specialist said 6 units (but she probably would’ve wanted me to try 6 units at +14 and still give like 9.5 units in the AM ROFL).
*shrug*
with Lantus you must get food on board. The exact window of time escapes me. The norm is to test, feed and then shoot all within 10-15mins.Ming is sleeping. He will most likely not be eating when we do give his shot. Will this affect anything?
As long as you dont shoot earlier than 12 hours from the next shot your good.I also don’t mind giving his PM shot 1 hour early. I was actually on a 7/7 schedule. And I even had a 6/6 schedule which I liked since I could test him and go to sleep at the same time.
I would offer a full meal and if he only eats part of it leave the balance out for him. He’s awake now and I think he will eat now. Maybe not a full meal but something. He was playing with his toys.
Sounds reasonable. truthfully any dose will leave him with high numbers at the end of 18 hours. Your present goal is to get some insulin in him without him bottoming out and along the way figure out a dose that you can shoot consistently every 12 hours.I feel like... 5 units will let me sleep but produce high numbers in the AM. And 6 units will need me to be there to save him if he gets low. And since he’s so relaxed he might actually get low low. So 5 units.... I want to say.
update the spreadsheet...its very important to keep it up to the minute. we are spreadsheet stalkers10 minutes until go time!!! I can’t wait to sleep LOL. But of course will stay up/wake up to test. Thank you Sandy for staying up. I’m sorry you had to thoughbut again incredibly thankful!!!
