10/20 AMPS 191 PMPS 54 I gave 1 unit. I messed up and I am scared. This number was a few minutes ago. Should I give her some food or honey? Please help
Yes I need to check her again soon.Renee, do you have lots of strips?
Yes. Coming up on +2You shot 1 unit at 8pm PST - 54
Am I thinking right in that the 30 was at +1? (1 hour after shot)
Should I feed her more?
I'm good for about 45 minutes but that's pushing it (12:45 am for me). If you could stay on, that would be great.Chris and Red&Rover - lemme know if I need to stay on. I can be on for another 2 hours as it is 11:45pm here. If it was me, and Kylee is not coming up, I would consider more sugar.
+2 34 She seems fine. She is at least climbing up.
Thank you. She is at 34. I was planning on church too. She is climbing up so that is good. Good night and thank you.I'll be around for a bit....am supposed to take DM to church in the morning, but I'd never leave an emergency if there wasn't someone else to watch over it

I gave her Manuka honey and the gravy +34Summary:
PMPS 8pm, BG = 54
+1, BG = 30, gravy food and karo given
+2, BG = 34
This is still a crucial time, and still an emergency status as Chris said.
I gave her Manuka honey and the gravy +34
I am feeding her some more, but I don't want to over feed her. She acts so hungry. Is that what too much insilin does to them?Renee - I did this once when Mala was first diagnosed. We over-shot her dose, and threw her into very low blood sugar territory. The others advising you are absolutely correct - you must stay with her, you must keep testing and feeding. She's not out of the woods yet.
Sending you all our love and concern. This is a hard part of this whole sugar thing. Make yourself some tea or set an alarm, if you need to.

Please give more gravy too![/QUOTE
She doesn't seem interested.
I agree with Chris. Not only is the sugar and carbs doing nothing, this is very early in the cycle... not to mention, given similar circumstances, elongated hypos are possible/probable with the long acting insulins. That means they've been known to last 16 - 17 hours.I seriously think you may want to consider taking her into an emergency vet.
She's getting a lot of sugar and carbs and it's not budging her
She is eating again.Do you mean she no longer acts hungry? If so, like Chris say I'd consider emergency visit to a vet too!
I would try dry food in this emergency case. But wait until someone who is experienced responds. @Chris & China @Jill & Alex (GA)The first time this happened I have her dry food. Why can't I try that. It worked with the honey the first time.
Why can't I try that. It worked with the honey the first time.
I may be wrong, but as I recall, the first time this happened you weren't dealing a full depot. This time it's different because the repeated doses of Lantus have built up in her system. This means it'll take more to stop this than it did the first time around. The first time this happened I have her dry food. Why can't I try that. It worked with the honey the first time.
She is next to me and can't understand why I won't let her out of my bedroom. Purring like crazy and is playing with a string. How is Kylee acting?
That's wonderful, but it can change at a moments notice and then it'll be too late. She is next to me and can't understand why I won't let her out of my bedroom. Purring like crazy and is playing with a string.
@HroswithaYou need to think about the worst outcome. You're gambling with Kylee's life. You need to take her to the vet. Tonight. As soon as you can.
She is your girl and she trusts you. Do the right thing. We all want a good outcome tonight.
GO. PLEASE. TAKE THE HONEY WITH YOU.+3 1/2 34
