You may just have a diver for a kitty and maybe she just needs less juice! Hopefully that that 9% food helps keep her up and just surfing.
I’ll retest her 2 more times before I go. How long does this food stay in her system? If I get her back up, can I have a relatively stress free 8 hours of work?

Are you able to call in a little late today?
I have to leave for a vet appointment in about 15 minutes, so can't stay on with you.
If I were in your shoes and had to go to work, I would leave out plenty of food, and try to get home at "lunch" or have someone (a neighbor in my case) check in on her. She'll probably be fine and eat if she needs to. I just know how scary it is at first when you are not used to these lower numbers.

I’m sure trying!!!

One thing to help your nerves if you have to go to work, is at least that skipped shot reduced the depot a little.

Thank you!!! It’s a good number, yes. But not like this...
it's ok.
The 9% you fed in AM is actually LC.
You can mix it with gravy food - when you feed her at +3.

Trouble with gravy MC alone is that it elevates BG fast and then leaves the system and a cat can drop again.
Gravy + high LC, such 9% = good combo to start working right away gravy part and good solid 9% food to sustain her.

I'd check her again at 2:30 (if you have to leave at 2:45)

If she's still doing OK, leave her some more of the 9% and go to work

If she's dropping again, add some gravy food to the 9%

Just leave down enough food so that IF she needs it, she'll have it.....Almost all cats will go looking for food if they're dropping low

amps 155...This morning for breakfast was FF pate..less than usual as I was trying to do something new and feed her a bit of bit of slightly higher (6%) mixed with a bit of MC (9%) mixed in at +2 (she was at 105) tested at +2.5 and she was at 80. Fed her some MC (9%) mixed with a tiny bit of gravy(15%) and then a tablespoon more of just gravy at +3 she is at 108. I'm home for another hour and wanna know when I can feel that she is safe for the remainder of the afternoon/evening. And should I keep feeding her small amounts and of which food? @Tanya and Ducia

Please try to keep your spreadsheet updated. It really helps us

I'd test about 15 minutes before you leave …..if she's still in nice safe numbers, just leave her some low carb food and go

If she drops again, give her some more of the mix (gravy +9%) and leave down some extra of her regular food for later

Don't feed her any more right now....108 is nice and safe and we need to know if she continues to go up or starts to go back down again before you leave

hold on to food for now. The +3 is 108, great but with gravy.
Test again in 45 m if lower than 108 offer 2 teaspoons of 15% - meat and gravy mixed with 2 teaspoons of 9% food and retest a Cris suggested at 2:30, 15 min before leaving andpost the result here

If you have a min take the 911 off your post before you leave.

I sympathize with you. Most of my days are "Unexpected" also!

Hang in there

Ok to all those things... I’m not going to leave for work until 3:30.. maybe 4:00 if things aren’t improving. And I will update my sS in a moment. Kinda running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get ready and tend to Jade and check this board..

Her last test was 108 @ +3

Nice job on treating your kitteh. Also nice job on keeping the spreadsheet updated. It is your spreadsheet, but you may want to consider putting the comments in the right-most column instead of the BG cells. It will make the sheet easier to read.

OK, so it is like:
AMPS 155
+2 105,
+2.5 80,
+3 108,
+3.5 112.

I would do as I posted in #32 if you are leaving now.

Even if you stay in later today leaving the food out as if you were going out will show how she does with the food left out - will she eat all at once, or will she be eating it later on. The 112 is safe and nice. If you are staying in longer you can test her before leaving and then feed her. If she lower than 112 - add a teaspoon of 15% to 9%. If even or higher - just 9%.

(it is wonderful cycle, if only you won;'t have to leave..)

if she's surfing on 9% now, I wouldn't add the 15%

Just leave down enough food so IF she needs it, she'll have it....but it looks like she's an "early nadir" cat (until she changes her mind....LOL)
Checking again in 15 minutes. and leaving in 30. I’ll leave some 9% out . Both cats will eat it...

I can’t help but worry about what’s happening while I’m at work. Up to 170 @+ 4 and 9% carb food out is good... right??

Yes. It looks okay.
I used to write a little prayer on a sticky note that I placed in front of me at work, something like "God Bless J.D., Please keep him in safe numbers for him, today.". It helped me. Did you leave lots of food out?

On your days off, it's good to see how he eats when she needs to. That will reassure you.

Good. If you need to do it again, I would leave more food than you think she would normally eat out, just to be sure.
