Arnica gel!
Hope it begins to go down soon. The brand I cited a few days ago (ArniFlora) is the one I buy (in the health food store). But there are many others. Look on the pharmacy shelves where the liniments and pain creams are. Arnica is great because it has no awful smell and it really works. But it works best if you can use it soon after the injury. When I slammed my hand in a heavy window frame my hand swelled up twice its size and was horribly bruised. I put Arnica gel on it and the next day it was normal size and the bruising was much diminished. I learned about it from a friend who knows a lot about holistic remedies. My local pharmacy doesn't have that. Have not made the trip to the chain rx yet. So far mineral ice helps in between ice bags. Socks cover the colors.

Don't keep an ice bag on for more than 20 minutes at a time. After a few days, use heat (this is what all of the first aid books recommend). Ice is to get down the swelling. Heat is to encourage the blood to be carried to the injury.
Great news!I can walk on it normally today.
