Our first green. Will do another check in an hour but curious if this means we should lessen his dose. I'm nervous about leaving him home alone during the day with numbers dipping like this

I would see where he goes with the next test. Was he eating a higher carb dry until two days ago? I hope someone more experienced with SLGS can advise you better. Otherwise SLGS says this

Hold the dose for at least a week:
  • Unless your cat won’t eat or you suspect hypoglycemia
  • Unless your kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L). If kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L) decrease the dose by 0.25 unit immediately.

Just took a test and it was 108 so seems like it's going back up. But you're correct, we took him off dry food yesterday. I'm just afraid I won't be able to catch a hypo during weekedays if one occurs.

Do you have an autofeeder? Or can you leave food out for him to keep himself safe should he need it? His numbers do look much better with the food switch, and still safe.

I do not have an auotfeeder but enough people have recommended it that I think I'll get one. Thanks!
