The 9th Dec.

I did not create a thread for readings yesterday but they are of course there on his spreadsheet.
Tyler really doesn't like the ear testing the night before last ( even though he couldn't care less about the insulin injections ) & so I wonder if my disturbing through the night with this somehow effected his BG during the following day , the 10th.

Still giving him the B12methyl because of his neuropathic gait and his appetite remains insatiable at the moment.
I am really hoping that if the food he has is more protein & less carbs - of course little to no phos because of his CKD - then his mind will switch off the hunger hormone.

TBH I am not getting the hang of what the readings v dosing means. I know blues and green are supposed to be good - I think. Am routinely keeping to the 2 units lanctus per day as I have no idea what else I should be doing. Hopeless seems to be my middle name with this.

His numbers really are quite good for a newly diagnosed cat. I didn't even see a yellow number until month three... I was stuck in pink. You are doing great with testing as well. Give him a Treat with each test and he will come to tolerate it more. You don't have to do curves every day.... If you catch various times each day it will put the pieces together.

You're doing great

You're on it! I takes quite a while to understand the nuances of dosing based on SS data. You'll get there eventually. :)

I gave him a teaspoon of FFgravy at the PMPS+2 as the drop was 100 points. Did I do the right thing given there could be no interim tests overnight or should I have left the balance alone to see how it was this morning.
Thanks

It's fine to give snacks throughout the cycle as long as it is not given within the 2 hours prior to insulin shots.

I wonder if you are ready to increase to 2.25 units. Has anyone mentioned this to you?

You are doing great so far!!

I would not increase the insulin at the moment if you are decreasing the carbs in the diet. That alone should bring down the BSL somewhat.
It is best to do just one thing at a time. I would get the diet down to the low carbs first ......or where you are going to keep it carb wise......and then see where that takes Tyler with the BSL.
Then you can adjust the insulin dose.

I think his SS is looking quite good for a newly diagnosed FD cat. :)
