Good morning!
AMPS 295 shooting 3u
Ok Boomer this is cycle 3 since the skipped shot; let's bring it down a bit today ok?

Boomer ate most of his +3, got me up at +6 to stir his remaining food (and then didn't eat it) and apparently slept through his +9 but woke me at +10 and I had to reset his dish in the auto feeder. Boomer....if I wanted you to be eating 2 hours before shot time I would let you free-feed overnight! The auto feeder turns to an empty dish at 10 minutes past +9 for a reason:rolleyes:

We were quite worried about Allen last night....he seemed fine all day but was visibly not feeling well last night. He was trying to eat....would nibble at it a bit....but wasn't consuming it like he has been! I did see him squatting in the litter box but I don't know that he produced anything. And DH changes the litters each morning and isn't good at paying attention to which kitty is doing what in them:rolleyes: so he "thought" Allen had a poop the night before but wasn't 100% sure. But Allen did eat all of his overnight fuds and he had a good breakfast this morning so it seems to have resolved itself ( the litter hasn't been checked yet).

Nothing exciting on the agenda today. Just more editing. At some point I would love to have time to edit some of my nature shots from this summer! And the other evening DH and I went to our closest pond to get some "autumn trees at sunset" pond reflection shots.....of course the clouds moved in so it wasn't altogether successful although I did get a few. But for now I have to concentrate on my customers' sessions.

So DH says that there were 4 massive wet spots in Allen's 2 litter boxes and that one of Boomer's boxes had 2 poops one of which "looked more like an Allen poop" and was quite small. Will look into whether Pred is known to cause constipation and I can increase the clearlax and/or pumpkin.

Morning Judy,

Cats not eating their snack is always a concern, all you can do is observe and ''pray'' (if it's your in the business).
It comes a time, taught, that force feed is reassuring, it can act as a kick in the but triggering the taste of it. When
Small Kitty was in the mood, I would add water into the bowl (lots of it), suck it into a big syringe and slowly bring
the food in his mouth. Eventually when he started to eat again, I'll left the food the same way (liquefied) and add
crushed dyed chicken turned into powder. If you dont see any drinking and it's really worrying you, check for
chem or any abnormalities. If there are, get a sub Q fluid quit and push in liquid up to when you can see a ''bump''
on his back. That's going to flush out any crap rolling inside.

So photo editing is on the desk today ? Hate that thing cause I know I have hours to get through everything. Sorting
out is already quite a huge task, no wonder why there must be a quarter of a millions of aviation / Airshow / Birding and
so many others standing by. See the final results, that helps.

Keep on, sure Bomber will drop his load so he can go down to a lower altitude. He's already handling pretty well
for a NS guy. Three units is quite a load to bring back.

Wish you have a good day !

Sébastien

Boomer is just being Boomer and he has these needy moments when he thinks he needs me to help him.
And yes Allen needs sub q fluids and we have tried several times using a few different tricks/techniques but nothing works....he struggles so very much. But I do put water in his food and he does drink so he is getting fluids.

Are you a photographer Sebastien?

One trick I've seen people use is a top loading cat carrier. Put them in the carrier, and mostly close the top with just enough room to reach in and put in the needle. They will often calm down in there. I also tried the towel over kitty in a laundry basket trick. With both my kitties, putting them in a smaller room like a bathroom helped. As a bonus, I could hang the bag from the shower curtain rod. Neko I would put on a heat reflective pad in front of an air vent and she would continue to lie there, even after I finished the fluids! Good luck, it can be tricky finding just the right solution.

Nice recovery Boomer.

Thanks for the suggestions Wendy!

Glad Allen is feeling a bit better! My civvie, Ben, got a little constipated on his increased Pred dose, and I have seen it before. We give him Laxatone once daily, and it has helped him a lot.

Glad Boomer decided to come on down to the beach today!

Here is another suggestion for giving if fluids.
