Jan, I've just come on: you've done a great job! I bet this was scary, but you did really well. :bighug:

Congratulations on starting to switch to raw. It will be great for Cher to be off the HC z/d, and I hope that this will help her IBD, as well. Fingers and paws crossed from Girlie and me. :-)

Thanks, Darrah ..

I am concerned that as she comes off the HC (which we have always known skyrockets the BG) her levels will plummet.

And now that she has the taste of the raw food, she is reluctant to eat the Z/D so when I need to get her levels up, if she won't eat the Z/D I will have to go with the honey initially.

We have a new vet who is OK with putting her onto a raw diet but he also wanted her to try other diets as well but it seems the Royal Canin Diabetic diet which he suggested, may be affecting her IBD. I have always wanted to put onto the raw but the previous vet was against it.

Hopefully the day ahead will be manageable.

The other day when her numbers dropped, we had the car outside on the street ready to go, her carry case at the front door and the syringe loaded with honey for a mad dash to ER if necessary!

How is Girlie doing?

Cher's PM shot is due at 8.30pm which is an hour and a half behind schedule. Are we able to give the shot a quarter of an hour earlier tonight (8.15pm) or should we stay with the twelve hours from the AM shot, then bring tomorrow's AM shot forward fifteen minutes?
