I hope Gizmo heads back down today.

It's crazy there is another powerful hurricane out there. Sending prayers.

Is the flooding going down in Houston?

Good morning. These weather events are very frightening. Hope things are getting somewhat back to normal by you:bighug:

Nice greens last night! Hope Gizmo comes down today for you.

Is the flooding going down in Houston?
The flooding from the rain and rising waters in the bayous and rivers have receded. The two reservoirs that were built to prevent flooding in Houston proper are still full (over full) and they continue to release water from them at a slow rate so the houses behind the earthen dams are being flooded as well as those just on the other side of the flood gates. These reservoirs were built and designed to do exactly what they are doing (in the 1940's and 50's) and the housing developments came much, much later and are considered in 500 year flood zones - and are now flooding.

If you are interested here is a good article that explains it better than I can.

Got a text from my SIL yesterday - she lives in Portland OR - she is surrounded by wildfires with a level 1 evacuation notification in place. They just got done remodeling their house and she was almost in tears. I am waiting to hear from her this morning. Meanwhile, my brother (her husband) is fishing in Alaska :banghead:

I hope Gizmo gets some low blues today.
Doesn't look promising. I sure wish I could figure out what is going on with him.

Irma looking like Andrew, this ain't good
No hurricane looks good. ;):banghead: Here is a really cool website - www.windy.com Along the bottom is a time-line that you can move forward hour-by-hour or day-by-day and see the movement. It looks like the path has moved a little father to the east and may make land fall along South Carolina.

Yes. :banghead::(

My normal shot time is 4:30 - the cat cares not if I have vacation.

ETA-least he could do is show me some consistent low numbers :cat:

Hi Lizzie. He did give you some green in the 80's last night but, he is mostly in blue numbers and has some wiggle room to come down some. I think I would fatten the dose up a bit on a day when you can monitor him.

There are blanks spots between PM +5 through +10 and he's still going down or best case flat at +4. Just wonder if he might be going a bit lower and creating the higher AM numbers. Might want to occasionally set an alarm and fill in those blanks.

Sure hope I don't regret not going up to 1.0U. He has had two doses of pain meds today and he will get another dose before bed tonight. He also got a dose of Ondansteron. He is eating well. Pretty lethargic. Not sure what is going on but I suspect a pancreatitis flare. His tummy feels bloated and tight and that is usually a sign. Going to go clean the litter box and make sure thing there are ok.

Do numbers always go up (and stay up) with pain? His numbers last night were encouraging but not so much today - hence the increase.

I found it best to go up by 0.25u increments, unless trying to avoid a dose that got the 30's. Good luck with the increase.

Neko's numbers would go up with pain and down when bupe took it away.

Depends on your ability to monitor the next few days. Or you can always try the current dose and see how it works, whether it's enough for Gizmo.

Sorry to hear about your SIL near Portland. We have smoke from Washington/Oregon fires clouding our skies. :( It's been crazy dry this summer. Thankfully some rain in the forecast in a couple of days.
