Yesterday...
Yesterday, someone called the bank with one of my credit card numbers and changed the address on my account, then called back later to report both credit cards as lost. Fortunately, the bank called me for more information and I was able to change it back, but both cards have been cancelled and there's a hurricane on the way.
Years ago, I was traveling a lot for work and got another card for the airline perks, so I was able to use that to book a pet-friendly room 3 hours north for 9/8-11. (Though it might be more of a 6-hour drive on 9/08.) I've never traveled with the cats before, but I don't want to end up in a situation where we're ordered to evacuate and I have to leave them behind. They need to be crated, so I've ordered a playpen (to arrive tomorrow) and will get a sheet of vinyl to set under it. It won't be much fun for them... but at least they'll have room to stretch out.
If anyone has traveled with cats before and can think of something I've left something off this list, please let me know!

I made sure of that before booking.
