OK I got a few night-time values last night. They do not appear to indicate her going significantly lower at night. Should I increase by 0.25 now? Her numbers just seem so all over the place. AMPS at this dose has ranged from 233-390, and PMPS from 292-457, both 150+-point spreads! Should I be expecting her to settle down to a tighter/more consistent range before increasing or with TR is that not a factor?

Unfortunately I can't be home to test her midday today. But if I increased for the PM shot I can test her tonight, although not home during the daytime again tomorrow. I will be home Fri-Sun though.

Thanks for the continued advice!

Try and forget the vetsulin dosing mindset. With TR, dosing decisions are based on nadir. That's why it's important to get those midcycle tests each and every cycle.

All things considered I would hold the dose and see about increasing Friday night.

When you increase with Lantus the depot takes some time to re-calibrate. So it's unlikely that you will see a drop in numbers with the first cycle following the increase.

For today and tomorrow, are you able to get an "out the door" test or a " just got back in the door" test? It all helps fill in the picture that helps you determine onset, nadir and duration.

Yesterday cycle was somewhat flat, nice yellow this morning, agree with Sandy would be nice to see where Abby is when you get in, prior to her PMPS if possible.

This is very helpful. Even reading and re-reading the protocols, I had been focusing on both the PS readings and then the nadir, likely to the detriment of the nadir since that's what I was so used to with vetsulin. Noted.

My AMPS and PMPS shots *are* my out the door and just got back in the door tests. We leave for work at 0710 and are home at 1850. :( As I come to understand the TR protocol more, this makes me think we may need to switch to SLGS. However, in a change of plans my husband was able to stay home today so we moved forward with the dose increase and are taking more readings to catch the nadirs. I'll be able to continue that tomorrow as well since it will be my regular day off and that gets us into the weekend so we should be able to monitor her nice and closely for now. Then we'll probably have to hold for the week next week unless we get some days out of the office.
