Easy does it with the food.
Did the entire +2.5 food come up?
How is she behaving otherwise?
How long until her next regularly scheduled feeding?

It looks like it did. I gave a little less than normal in case I needed her to eat more to steer her. But it looks like it all came up with water. I just gave her a half tsp of ff lc

Wow! Wow! Wow! Is this all due to that R or was it just time? It's so exciting to see good news on this forum. Go Phoebe and Angela!

I'm not sure which, I would think the R. But she was starting to get some better numbers when we were in the 20+ units. Thank you, I am so proud of my girl.

Although R is a nice tool to have, there is nothing like getting to a good Lantus dose.

Yes, normally sticking with 24 units unless she went under 50 would be the ideal next step. I keep expecting Phoebe to bounce, but she's not cooperating. :p This is a great dose because she is spending almost all her time under renal threshold. However, you do have to balance your ability to monitor. There were times when I would deliberately back Neko's dose down a "smidge" for a few cycles to get some sleep, then go back up. A smidge in this case might be 1 unit. But let's see where Phoebe is headed tonight first. Over time and as you gather more data on Phoebe in good numbers, you'll learn when you can back off the testing, and when you have to make sure you test. For example, when she went blue at +4 today, you probably could have backed down the hourly testing.

Expanding a bit on next steps, for a high dose cat, you have to find a dose that has nadirs you like. With Neko, I really liked doses that had nadirs in the 70's cause it meant she'd be flatter and bounce less. You have to find what range of nadirs work for Phoebe. Also, nadirs in the 70's don't give you much room to increase, so I'd hold until she either tells you she wants less juice by going under 50, or her nadirs start creeping up.

I thought maybe so, but left the house so hubby was in charge but glad he was over cautious. Her little ears need a break for sure. Put neo on them. I figured she would come back down a little for her dip. Would she normally react the same way with the 24 dose tonight? Depending on her pmps?

As you gather more data on Phoebe's cycles at these kinds of numbers, the patterns will emerge. It's a little early at this stage to tell.:cat:

15 min each cycle or one 30 min adjustment per day. Keep in mind early shots act like a small increase while late shots tend to act like a small decrease.

If you really need sleep tonight, a 1 unit decrease will not do it, as the depot of the 24 unit dose will probably be in charge. You have to do a larger decrease, maybe 1/3 of the dose down to something like 18 unit. You may still need to get DH to do a +5. Then if you want to try 23 units as her new dose so she'll run in a bit higher numbers to give you sleep all the time, then start the 23 units tomorrow morning.

Thank you. Will do 18u then continue at 23 in am. Get hubby to get +5. :)
