Last week's post

Ivana seems to like giving a low blue every now and then, just to keep us on our toes. Mind you, she hadn't eaten all her breakfast this morning and not long after this test she went outside to eat grass, so I'm thinking her tummy might be feeling a bit yuck (which it often does if she hasn't eaten much) :(

Hubby took HRH to the vet yesterday, and as usual she was the perfect patient. Her creatinine, which was high last visit and was the reason for the retest, was the lowest it's been since her CKD diagnosis, which is fantastic news! Phosphorous is up though (but still not terrible apparently), and BP was 170 which is a little up on last time but still nowhere near as high as before she started on her BP meds. Vet was pleased with her results, and also with her teeth - yes we're still brushing them every night! She's getting used to it, although not liking it of course - but she is starting to ease up with the duck-face so we can better get to her back teeth now.

Here's a collage pic of Ivana not long ago - she'd not long eaten grass so I was expecting her to vomit, but instead she decide to go exploring. She even went through a fence into a paddock, that's the furthest she's *ever* gone from the safety of the house!

Oh I forgot to add - we increased her food portions about a month ago. She was getting 1/2 tin per meal, we increased it to 3/4 tin. Although sometimes she doesn't quite finish it, most of the time she does. She has only put on 30g since her last weigh-in a month ago, so we're pleased that she's highly unlikely to become a Fatty Boombah again :joyful:

Beautiful photos!

Nice report for Ivana. That is great news that she is getting better with letting you brush her teeth and that her vet visit went well.:cat:

How is Chablis doing?
Oh I meant to post an update about Chablis and forgot, thanks for the reminder Carla. Chabs made a miraculous full recovery by Monday morning, after we threatened on Sunday night to take her to the vet first thing in the morning ;) Seems that tactic works for chickens as well as kids haha! Seriously though, Monday 8am I dialled the vet's number and it rang a couple of times, then I thought "I'd just better see how she's walking this morning for when they ask me what's wrong" and she was 100% fine so I hung up the phone. No idea what caused her leg pain/weakness, but we've been keeping a close eye on her all week.
