Ok so Big K is at 5 hours since his shot and meal. I decided to do a test because I think that's when the insulin is peaking. 131!!! I am shocked!! And honestly it scared the crap out of me because I'm so used to high numbers. So I gave him a small meal mostly chicken (which I do everyday since he is off the dry). Testest again an hour later and we're now at 183. So I assume he is climbing now until next shot.
If you notice on his SS his PS numbers have been SLIGHTLY lower. Big emphasis on the slightly. He's testing about 450's PS when he's normally pushing 600.
I will definitely be doing my PS testing faithfully now that I know he's dropping like that.
I'm worried about the drastic ups and downs with the vetsulin. It seems to be doing its job, just not for the full 12 hours. Is this hard on his body going up and down like this?
My other 4 cats eat dry food and I moved it somewhere Big K can't jump (old man). Maybe he was nibbling and I didn't know and that's what the big change is. But geeze he is a rollercoaster. Just worried about the effects of the way ups and the way downs.
