The Spanish contingent is here to the rescue! I leave you in good hands. Paws crossed that next test is above the line.

Hey Taffy - UP!!!
Lol got on the board late this morning. Been out for a Frosty walk with the droolers and feeding the chucks.
+5 = 55
Could be due to all of the syrup, but we're up a bit! Liking 5s, apparently
Nice to see him over 50, the syrup can have a tendancy to wear off, if his appetite is good, then maybe give him some higher carb low carb? Or add a drop of syrup to his raw. Not much wiggle room with that 55.

I'll try a canned he likes, but I think he is not going to eat more right now. Let me see...

Not interested. Probably the only thing he would be interested in right now (always) would be a few kibbles. Should I give him 3-4 kibbles??

If he won't eat, perhaps you could give him 20 min and recheck BG, just to be sure he is staying up.

It's getting later in the cycle so hopefully you have that on your side, and am i right in thinking that you've noted that it takes him a little longer than the average cat to respond to carbs?

If he eats the kibbles, as they are dry, it may take a while for him to respond, so still check in 20.

Actually, Gill, Jill informed me not long ago that dry does not take any longer to affect BGs than canned. It does, however, stay in the system longer.

Julie, if you haven't already given him something, it's up to you if you'd like to try not feeding and testing in 20, or feeding and testing in 30. Never mind. We cross- posted.

I know I remember, I just don't think I necessarily agree, my reasoning being that when George has sicked up on a very rare occasion, after about an hour or two of eating his kibble breakfast, the lumps were still pretty solid, where as, when he has done that after eating wet the sick is not recognisable as food. To me, rightly or wrongly that suggests the food is taking longer to digest and therefore longer to absorb.
I also think of it in terms of sport nutrition, a dry energy bar will sustain you longer than an energy drink, but the energy drink will boost your BG much quicker than the bar.
That's just my opinion though, maybe my logic isn't sound.
68...that's better. Now I can wait 30 minutes to test, right?
Yay! No more food and see where he is, did he eat the kibble?

Sorry, I got cold and put a blankie over myself and dozed off!!
So now I got his +6 = 65
Pretty much the same as last test, which was 47 minutes ago

Thank you for the help and company! Taffy is in his snuggle bed and I am setting the alarm for the next test. I think we are coming up out of the deep, finally.

Julie, I'm going to go to bed now. I have a cold and a doctor appointment in the morning. But Gill will be checking back to make sure Taffy is done with dramatics for tonight. From the looks of things, he just wants to sleep, too! :)
