Pudden's numbers are still going up into the 130s even though I switched to Sheba. She gets diarrhea from the chicken pate Sheba and is only getting turkey pate now.
I have it written down that back in May she went up to 118 and I was feeding her Sheba pate beef. I stopped all Sheba foods and never had a high number again until this November. I figured now though that it was a fluke and had nothing to do with the Sheba since I am reading everywhere it is safe.
But I still wonder, could she react to Sheba with a little bit higher numbers than FF?
On the night I caught the first 145 she had been pawing at the dog's food bag and we thought that maybe she got into it. She went down the next day, but then went up a few days later and has been throwing higher than normal numbers since. This is why I switched food as I though maybe the FF was no longer safe and was pulling her out of remission.
I can't see her tolerating one flavor forever, which is what I like so much about FF and the variety it provides. Are there any updates on which flavors are no longer safe? Is it only chicken and turkey and giblets that have changed?
I would try Pro plan grain free, but it's 99 cents a can which would come out costing twice as much as FF per month and I can't afford that. Sad I know. I also don't want to upset her tummy anymore since she had diarrhea 3 days ago.
I am afraid to switch her back, but things aren't going so great on the sheba anyway. She has started to always stay high and doesn't go down as much after eating. She was diagnosed with facial paralysis on the right side last Thursday and the vet thought it was maybe from a virus since she had been sneezing the previous week and her right eye was watery. This could be what is causing the high BG and it has nothing to do with food. I don't know though.
Her face seems to be improving, but sadly her BG is not. Her numbers are highest when fasting and go down a few hours after eating. This to me indicates her liver feels she is ill and is dumping sugar into her blood stream. The problem is I can't figure out why. The only off thing is like I said the face paralysis which is very slight and certainly not the worst thing she has endured since achieving remission.

Fluffy was being raised by mom at the time so she didn't test him at all... but he moved in with me recently to my apartment, and I ordered Purina Pro Plan True Nature Grain Free Turkey & Chicken (because a lot of people had a lot of really good reviews on it over here) so I ordered them in bulk (72 5.5 0x cans for like 50 bucks which includes free 1-2 shipping) which was a steal considering at petsmart I paid like 35 bucks for 24 cans?
Of course ECID but the carb content should be about, I want to say 1-3%.
