Yet another poor appy day, I think worse than yesterday. She is definitely nauseous, in spite of having Cerenia and Ondansetron on board. I measured Neko's RR (respiratory rate) at 33/36. :( For that last while it's been low 20's so I think her heart is working harder. I've sent an email off to cardiology and internal medicine vets, but I think I'm going to suspend fluids for now. Poor appy and lethargy are also sign of heart issues. Of course, it's a long weekend coming up. We'll take any vines you can send our way.

Neko being off is putting me between a rock and a hard place. Friday is Remembrance Day and the last few years I've gone to the island and taken my parents to the service. DM would like to go again, not sure DF can manage the walk. He's one of the last WWII veterans on the island. The last couple of years I've made a wreath to commemorate a great uncle who is the first name on the cenotaph. But I'm not sure I can leave Neko that long cause she probably won't eat enough before we'd go. And it's supposed to rain. Ugh.

Sorry to be a downer. Gray wet November days can do that.

Sending you some of our sunshine shine, I would help. FWIW, Doodles RR is usually mid to upper 30's with an occasional lower end low 30's. Hopefully the cardio & IM vetty have some good ideas. My heart hurts for your girl and my Doodles and if I could give them both my heart I would :(

Sending extra appy and feel better vines and prayers. Hoping you can get out on Friday, it's an important day. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending you vines, strength, hunger, and time to cuddle with your Neko. Hope your day has some sunshine. We all could use some today :bighug::bighug:

More vines, prayers and hugs from here, too. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope you are able to go to the island Friday. There aren't many WWII vets left anywhere. :( My dad was one, but he's been gone since 1999. Please wish your father a happy Veteran's/Remembrance Day from me, and tell him I said thank you very much.

Hi Wendy
Neko sweet girl Momma has had enough of your not eating on your own. Eating recovery food is good for you!
I hope the cardiologist is helpful.

Going to the island might just be what your spirit needs.:)

vines and prayers for you Wendy and your sweet girl :bighug::bighug::bighug: I hope you are able to attend the Remembrance Day with your parents, we owe the veterans our freedom.:bighug:

Jack and I add our thoughts to you and Neko. Hope she continues to perk up and finds one of the human offerings acceptable.:cat:

I wonder if the higher RR is at least partially due to the nausea?

my dgf was also wwII vet... medical on one of the hawaiian islands....
I just reconfirmed that his name is on the memorial wall in D.C. - some year I hope to go find it there....

Sending all the vines I can.... I'll even go dig up more from the back yard....
I sure am wishing Neko could feel better, hope you hear back quickly from the vets....

Scritches

for the sweet girl...
and hugs for you....

(((Wendy)))
Sending mega good appy vines for Neko.

I am so sorry that the chemo pills are making her nauseated.
They did make Lucy super sick too, and I had to stop using them after only 2 doses.
Wendy, I know that you give Cerenia to Neko, but I am guessing you give her the pill version of Cerenia.
Have you considered trying Cerenia injections instead of pills?
IBD kitties aren't very good at absorbing the meds through intestines, so injection might work better at preventing nausea.
At least that's what I guessed and got my vet to sell me a few syringes of pre-filled Cerenia.
I thought it worked better for Lucy.
Cereneia injections do sting, but there is a trick - vibrate the hand holding the skin vigorously, and I don't know why but most times they don't notice the sting because they notice the vibration more.
Just an idea....

And big HUGS. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending a truck load of hugs and prayers to you and Neko. So sorry you both are going through this. I hope you are able to go celebrate with your parents but I also understand you have to do what is right for you and Neko.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Vines and prayers for Neko to begin to feel better today...and that when Neko feels better you'll feel better.

The between Rock and hard place situations....grrrr....feel your worry entirely. Been there too many times myself and in the years and years of caring for my parents.

Vines and prayers too that the "brahp" will yield to Neko feeling better and that you and your humans can be together on Remembrance Day.
