He got his late snack a bit earlier last night because Lucy Lu woke me up to go out to pee- pee :banghead: He's a bit higher today so that could be why.

I had to have the "talk" with him again and ask him to put his patience pants on and give me a while more on the juice. Imagine his disappointment as he had all ready been dreaming of sugar plum mice.......Poor boy.

Having a luncheon today for a former co-worker who is battling cancer. Ugh.....what a trooper she is.

Vines to all Beans and Kitties.

Bobbie, 89 is nothing stop breathing. It's very acceptable for 0.1. Thing is that if feeding
is by the min it's almost as bad as the needle business, Isn't it ? Hope you have a feeder,
less work for you.

Mice will come up soon, pretty sure.

Good day to you !

Yes we have a feeder but I still get up and feed because I want to test then also. Once he's OTJ again ,anti-jinx I will use the feeder at night.

The timing with the feedings are important when they get down to the micro-dosing. A small amount of food at PM +9 helps to bring down the AMPS number. I think I am finding it's more like +8 - +8.5 that works best for Bubba. The earlier feeding last night Could have influenced his higher number this AM. You are right, 89 is still a nice normal number but to help a stronger remission it is better if they can get into the 50-80 range (that is with a human meter)

The mice are waiting.....:p

ETA: to correct and say feeder not SS

I think he's ready for a drop although still not sure how you guys even do that :p Have a good day Bobbie!
He just popped me a 58 for his +4. I would love if his numbers stay under 90 for Pre shots and if they do that for a few more days, I may or may not do a drop.

The way I do the drop is to push the plunger in all the way as far as it goes and insert it into the pen then let go of the plunger and the vaccum will suck up a drop. Then when I give that drop injection, I hold the plunger in to the count of 5 and when I remove the needle from the skin, I continue to hold in the plunger so that it doesn't get sucked back into the syringe. Not sure if that could happen but, I don't want to chance it.

Looking good Bubba! Trouble gave me another low blue this am... we might be on the 1 drop for a while :(
Ugh for the blue. Last night's cycle you put 0.01 in the unit column rather than 0.05 . Was that a typo? Do you keep the plunger held in as you remove the needle from Trouble's skin?

I get it in theory but have a hard time believing they actually get that drop. I know, controversy LOL. I hold the plunger and needle in Doodles for 10 seconds every injection and many times there is a tiny bead or wet spot at the end of the needle.

My DH does the injections (I do the computer stuff- and most of the testing and he does the shots.. ) Don't know if he holds it in...

And totally @Doodles & Karen - I agree- who knows if he is getting anything?

No dose is same as its been .05.. or the small drop.. whatever that means ...

I would ask DH to hold the plunger in as he removes the syringe from Trouble so the drop doesn't suck back. Before I did that technique, there would still be a drop in the syringe when I pressed the plunger in after I removed the syringe. It got me thinking. Lucky you that DH helps. It takes some burden off of you.

That's why I keep the plunger pressed in as I am removing the needle. Since I started doing that, dry needle tip and no insulin in the syringe.

Bubba is looking great! :D Whatever the exact amount is that he is getting, it's definitely working for him... I'm sure he can already taste the mice in his dreams... and Walter mentioned something about pumpkin-spiced niptinis for the party. :cat:

Hey Cara! How are you and Wynk doing??
He's fine! Went low on me the other nite, but we got thru it... My schedule has been very erratic the last couple days and shot timing has gone kablewey...

But he's ok, regardless. I am dreading a 3 day business trip next week - wondering if I need to lower his dose...:nailbiting: Probably will... Even though the sitter learned how to test....

How often can your sitter test?

Just asked him- says he doesn't count- but hold it in a while and that he doens't think there is any insulin left in it.. but will recommend keeping it pushed in. I am so lucky he helps- he is really good with it- does most of the injections- and testing later at night.. I go to bed early! :)

@Cara and Wynken Hi Cara -
so nice to see you on here!! Best of luck on your trip!! I will be going to Africa for 2 weeks in April (with some feline vets on a safari with a wildlife vet- will be tagging lions and dehorning rhinos etc) can't wait but crazy nervous about what I will do with Murf
Bobbie - here is the recipe
1 tablespoon sugar, 1/4teaspoon pumpkin pie spice; 1.5 oz (or 2) vodka, 2 tablespoons half and half, 1 tablespoon canned pure pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, and 1/4teaspoon pure vanilla extract

That sounds exciting!!! Hopefully you will get someone lined up to care for Murphy that can visit a lot or test a lot to watch him... Wish we all lived closer to each other!!!

That recipe sounds like... Alcoholic pumpkin pie! Stir it together and drink? Or add to coffee? :p Is that the pumpkin spice niptini?????

Carol, that sounds like an exciting trip! Hope you will be able to get someone in to take care of Murphy.

Thanks for the recipe!
