Last Condo

Well darn!!! I really didn't want Harvey to earn a reduction yet. Since he failed the last time, we decided to just go to a fat .5 tonight and see how that goes. Then of course, he hit the elevator "up" button at PMPS.

He got off to a slow start, appy-wise, this morning. Ate some of his t/f/s and a little of his breffis, but it wasn't good enough for Mama, so he got the tummy meds and eventually finished off the can. Unfortunately the last few bites were after +10, so maybe that PMPS isn't so bad, after all. ;)

Sorry no condo yesterday. I confess I was stuck watching tinykittens.com, following the Skye story. That poor kitty has been through so much and it's just going to break my heart if it turns out her heart issues are terminal. If any kitty deserves a loving home, it's that sweet little calico. :( I'm praying pretty hard for her.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

Good luck with the new half way in between dose. Mark must be thrilled at drawing those doses. :p Hey Harvey, somewhere in between 90's and 40's would be just about perfect.

I can't watch tinykittens much - it's about 1/2 hour drive away. Don't want to be tempted. I hate CHF. :(

Hi Wendy! I was posting on your condo while you were posting on mine! :)

But you could go be a kitten snuggler! Wouldn't that be fun? If I were that close, I'd adopt Skye, and maybe her mini me, Farrah, for company. Who am I kidding? I'd take all four of her babies!! Good thing I'm way down here!

Yo Deputy Harvey,
Thanks for helping Deputy- in -Training Bubba with his deep-water drill. Good job!

Have a good weekend, Tricia. Eat safely!!

i can't volunteer out there because i get too too upset by it all..... there are always suffering ones..... always....
i adopted one on petfinder who can't ever be homed..... but she needs lots of medical care.....
and Dh is pretty upset about that..... since we have four here.....

Wow...Harvey really likes to be a drama king, doesn't he??

I've had to limit how much I check in on tinykittens...I start watching and the next thing I know 4 hours have gone by and I've done absolutely nothing!!

Yo Harvey!! You know I don't mind dragging you out of da deep end, but you is making da mama a nervous wreck!! Don't forget..we needs our mama's to bring us da yummy fuds!! Glad you remembered to pick up some extra weenies..dey is going fast!!

That's why I can't go to them. I can't handle it. I can't even go to Petsmart when they have adoptions going on. I took some donations to our local SPCA last year, and I only went in the office, nowhere near the animals, but I left almost in tears anyway. As I was leaving, someone was walking in with a dog and crying - I assume they were going to give it up. :(

Exactly what happens to me! It's very addicting, especially when you know the stories. Watching the kittens play is very relaxing, though, and very entertaining.

So Harvey attempted a half gainer into the lagoon and landed right at water's edge. I think he banged up his nose a little, but you know cats - he just shook it off! Harvey, if you don't climb so high at PS you don't have to fall so far!

Wow Harvey, so much green! :D:D:D You probably didn't need that 41 though!

I don't know what tinykittens is, and I'm not sure I want to look it up based on the comments here. Paws crossed for little Skye :bighug:

Hi @Tara & Ivana. Nice to see you. TinyKittens.com is the website. It's a rescue in Langley, BC (Canada). There is a forest nearby that has a large feral cat colony. They feed the cats and try to get them used to humans. They've been trying to catch any pregnant females. They bring them in, treat any medical issues, give them good nutrition and a safe place to have their babies. They take their cue from the mama cat as to how much human contact she wants - most don't want any before and after they have the babies. Once the kittens are ready to wean, they spay the mama and try to see if she is amenable to being socialized. If not, they return her to the forest. If she seems willing to learn to live with humans, they socialize her and find her a home. They adopt out the kittens.

Skye was blind in one eye and losing her sight in the other when they trapped her. They couldn't save the one eye, but they're working on saving the other. She was in labor over 24 hours and they ended up doing an emergency C section. It turns out the kittens were too big for her, and if they hadn't brought her in from the forest, she and the kittens would have died. She was a wonderful Mama and was amenable to human contact. They had three other pregnant cats at the same time, so ended up with 11 kittens all within about two weeks! Two of the other mothers ended up going back to the forest, one is being socialized, and Skye has been taking care of all the kittens. They all got some kind of virus the other day and one kitten almost died. Skye had it bad, and it seems to have led to heart issues. They're waiting to get her seen by a cardiologist. That's it in a nutshell. It's addicting.

What a wonderful organisation to look after the colony like that. We have a few here that do that too. Maybe I will have a little peek at the website just to see Skye...

Here's the link to the camera. The kittens are on the main one and Skye is in the corner. She's isolated to keep her calm and quiet right now, but she hates it. She's always loved the sink. That was her favorite place to sleep when she was pregnant. They named her kittens to correspond with that - Belfast (he was the kitten that got stuck trying to come out), Farrah Faucet, Justin Timberlake (N-Sync - get it?), and Kohler. If you scroll down to the close up of Skye, you can watch the video that tells her story.

That ginger is Belfast. The gray one with the orange on her face is Brae, she's from another litter. The grey tabby Belfie is cuddling is either Elvis or Petra - I can't tell them apart. Adorable, aren't they?

They sure are adorable. I've got the house to myself tonight and was planning to watch The Notebook, but I might watch TinyKittens instead :cat:

They'll wake up and get skampy again before long! The other cam at http://livestream.com/tinykittens/nestcam shows Neelix, who is the mama for some of these kittens, and Maravel, a male feral they brought in to keep another kitty company, but he ended up bonding with Neelix so well they kept them together. They're hoping to get them adopted together. Neelix has come a long way since Maravel showed up.

If you go to Tinykittens.com, you can learn about the Miracle Kitten, Cassidy. When they found him he was just a few weeks old and missing the bottom half of his rear legs. He shouldn't have survived that long, but he's a tough little guy, and they were able to pull him through. Shelly, the lady that runs TK, is so enamored of him that she'll probably end up keeping him. They are having prosthetic legs made for him.

Hi Tricia I missed you yesterday but I foresaw that you have something interesting to watch again ;)
It must be really late in Suisun city now. Am I right? BTW I like the name of your city. It sounds a little bit exotic for me. I dont know how to pronounce it (sui) but it sounds sunny there ;)
Nice numbers for Harvey. He is really good boy. I hope his appy will be even better from now on. Maybe he needs Zobaline ;) Tačka is starved every second of the day since she eats Zobaline.

Hi Sara. Yes, it's 1:35 am. Suisun is pronounced Sa-SOON. It's an American Indian name. It was sunny here today. And very windy.

Harvey had some great numbers today. Flat tonight. I don't really want to give him Zobaline. He doesn't have neuropathy (anti-jinx), and his B-12 level is already on the high end of normal. It interesting that you found it helped Tačka's appetite. Cinco always had a good appy, but he was started on Zobaline not long after we took him in, so maybe that was what made him eat so well! I've never heard anyone else talk about that side effect. I'm curious to see if others have found the same thing.

Ooooooo Sasoon. I think i heard that allready. Before i pronuanced it like you are living in France ;) SUIsun hehe We have sun too today despite poor weather forecast.
Is it possible to have too much B-12? Yes it s really weird and i didnt read about that side effect anywhere. But she became hungry next day from first pill.

I see Harvey is keeping you on your toes. I hope he'll surf safely on the new dose and keep eating for you. Sending prayers.

Hopefully the reducie will stick...work it, Harvey! And eat, eat, eat!

I am SO addicted to Skye and TinyKittens. I have been praying for her full recovery, and every time I look at the kittens it's just so uplifting....such incredible sweetness!
