For the first time in 6 weeks! Got home from class, tested, meter said HI, went to give his shot and the second I touched his skin with the needle he sharply turned his face toward me like he was going to bite. Tried a different site, same thing. Drew it up into a new syringe, same thing. Went to grab my roommate to help me restrain him and he freaked when I wrapped him in a towel so I threw a treat at him which he ate. I was able to sneak the shot into his flank while he ate...and he gave me such a non-response about it that I smelled his fur to make sure the insulin actually made it in.
Do kitties get in bad moods about this?? Completely caught me off guard. Probably his high numbers tonight making him feel like crap too. His glucose curve is next week and I still plan to ask for a RX for Lantus at that time. Now he's sweetly creeping up my thigh acting like I can't see him trying to steal my pizza. As if his numbers aren't high enough. Yes, cat, you want pepperoni or meat lovers?
