Thanks for your help!Look at this on the picture on the right. See how the needle goes into the rubber part.

Did you vet tell you where on the syringe to draw the insulin to?
Yes U100 and thank you!I'll get mine and take a pic mine does have a red cap but it was very easy to take off -- it looks like the syringe has an orange top though - is this a U-100 syringe? Hang on a minute while I get the insulin
That's what mine looks like but I don't remember having a red top.here are the photos of mine - just take off the metal top
Hmmm that's what the Dr prescribed? What is the difference? Those are not the correct syringes - your insulin is a U-40 - the correct syringes have a red top
Yes, your right Bobbie - there should be a ring that you just pull off - maybe the ring broke off of your vial - but just so you realize that you need to use a conversion to use the U-100 syringesMine came with an aluminum ring around the bottle but the middle was a rubber center for you to draw the insulin from.
Sora, if you are using U 100 syringes, you need to use the conversion chart. Do you have that chart?Yes U100 and thank you!
They are closed.I've never seen anything like that. Could you call your vet (if they are open) to see if they can advise you?
100U/ml on the bottle so are the syringes correct then?Check your insulin. ProZinc is a U40 insulin. PZI can be U100.
Yes, I am he had diabetes about 3 years ago. I got him in remission within a month and now it came back...OK. Good. Yes, PZI can be U100 so your needles are okay. So now, what dose? And are you comfortable drawing up the dose to the right line?
I think I will just try prying the middle circle thing out, your one photo looks like the cap took that part off. Mine don't have a cap so ,I guess gotta do it manually!here are the photos of mine - just take off the metal top
Does the metal seem really thin? There's no ring to pull?Yes, I am he had diabetes about 3 years ago. I got him in remission within a month and now it came back...
I just wanna get this bottle open without wrecking it! lol
No ring...I got it ! yes the metal is thin aluminum.Does the metal seem really thin? There's no ring to pull?
Thank you!!! I feel silly now though! It should be. I am hoping a small dose to start - maybe one unit.
Congrats on figuring the cap out. We sure had no clue...
Now I'll probably have a difficult time for my next vial!! Good luck, Sora. We here on the Prozinc forum look forward to going through together with you and Ozzy! Let us know how the shots go. Are you all set with home testing and setting up your spreadsheet?Thank you!!! I feel silly now though!
Ok I will just do 1 unit Thank you so much!!!
