Well, we went to the new vet today, and I am not really impressed, but I did try to download 7 ½ years of data to him in a 45 minute appointment. I think I overwhelmed him. LOL! I need to have all the documents transferred to him from the other vet and he wants the spreadsheet printed out. YIKES! that is going to be a lot of paper.

He said he would look over the medical records and the spreadsheet. I told him that I don't expect him to jump in and make dosing suggestions, I mostly want a vet that I can bounce ideas off of and more of a professional opinion.

He did a round of blood work, I think he did a CBC, but the cost was only $48 and it just said t4 on the receipt. I will talk to him tomorrow about the results. He said that if Sammy's thyroid was out of whack that could be what is causing the rest of him to be off kilter.

I did talk to him about a frutosamine test, but we decided against it because I do enough testing to see what his numbers are. I thought it would tell me if he was dropping too low and then spiking up.

Other than that Sammy is doing good today. He has some slightly higher numbers this evening, which I am is from the 42 last night. I am holding the .25 unit dose for now. I work tomorrow but will be home between +9 and +10. I don't know if I would be able to get home for a mid cycle test tomorrow even though I will be working from my regular office tomorrow, which is only 15 minute away from home. We are having a celebration for a good month and lunch will be served at 11:30 followed by the full on celebration at 1:00 pm. Being a new employee I have no idea what that entails, but I am happy to be a part of it.

Then I will probably be home most of the weekend, and will be able to keep really good tabs on him to see if he goes too low.

Oh, and I think I discovered what could have been at least part of the cause of the higher numbers. So I mostly feed Sammy Friskes Special Diet Turkey & Giblet and sometimes I feed the higher carb higher phosphorous version as well. Well apparently I had forgotten that I had some of the Regular food and I have been feeding it to him the last few days thinking it was the lower carb lower phosphorous food. Oops! I have segregated that food in a different spot so I don't make that mistake again.

I am hoping to be able to get some sleep tonight.

Have you heard that the Friskies Special Diet is being discontinued? Just wanted to give you a heads up in case there is any still out there.

@tiffmaxee Thanks for the heads up, I did not know that. I mostly use it because it is lower in phosphorous, and if we can get the phosphorous binder to help out then I won't be so worried about feeding food that is lower in phosphorous. But I might stock up any way. LOL!

Looks like I might be in for another night of limited sleep. At least I will have the long weekend to recover.

Tina, I might be up with you. Shiloh went from 134 at PS to 92 at +1. And unfortunately, not really sure what DH gave her, but I know it was not more than 1u. But since she has been on .5 for the last few days, not sure what that will do.

Sammy, you catchin' on nicely to da diving! Your mommy be so proud!!!!!

Tina, I went out to Web's today. I love that place!!!!! There is now a rather large bag of new yarn in the spare bedroom.

Nice! Malabrigo and Madelinetosh are my most favorite from Webs. I just ordered some Malabrigo from Jimmy Beans Wool because it was slightly cheaper and they had colors I wanted.
