It's a mixed bag with Trix today....mostly good stuff, but MamaBean still isn't totally comfy. When I got up this morning, she was waiting outside the bedroom; she followed me down, got my morning snuggles, and she was very impatient with her pre-breffis pokey because she wanted to eat!
But her appy is definitely not where I like seeing it....she IS eating, just not with the gusto I'm used to. I may break out the syringes tonight and do a little assist feeding; I'd like to see her get a few more calories, and it does seem like assist-feeding acts like an appy stimulant for her.
She also had moments last evening where she looked like she didn't feel well....very similar trend to how things went back in January. Hopefully we'll follow the same course as we did in January - when she felt awesome once this "thing" passed.
I do think Elise is probably right...I think it is most likely a p-titis flare brought on by vetty stress. It's just too much of a coincidence that her feeling crappy about 2-4 days after a blood/urine draw has happened several times now. I wish there was a way to know for sure, but vetty doesn't like the p-titis tests (she used to use them, but found that if anything else was going on within the cat that the results were inaccurate, so she stopped using them), plus I wouldn't want to take Trix back for yet another draw and ask for more trouble anyway.
We did get the culture results back and everything was negative this time, so we managed to clear the enterrococus (apparently it's hard to clear this particular bacteria). Vetty wants to recheck in 6 weeks to make sure it's still gone, but I'm going to talk to her about skipping that unless I see any sort of issues. I just don't want to cause yet another set back if it's avoidable.
I just had a feeling we were going to rock the boat by taking her last week....it could be worse, that's for sure, but she was feeling SO good before we went that night, and now she only feels "meh".
On top of Trix, civvie Noah is having an issue with his toe. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but I noticed that his foot was "clicking" when he walked. I've been trying to get a good look at it for about week now, but he's wanted nothing to do with that. I finally saw it today, though, and it looks like his claw has grown into his toe pad. I'm amazed that this doesn't seem to bother him - he's not biting at it, not limping, and it it doesn't stop him from racing around the house like a crazy cat. But obviously a vetty visit is in order
....unless it starts bothering him, it probably won't be until Wednesday evening, when "our" vetty is back in the office.
And I'm stuck at work by myself today, so I can't go check on Trix (although DH is home - but he's not a helicopter like am. Probably a good thing
...), and it's snowing even though it's supposed to be sunny

....I'm generally in a bummed-n-stressed mood.....it will pass, but it's where I'm at right now. Big sigh.
Guess I'd better get working. Sending extra prayers out to Skooter and Shasta today....feel better kitties....
Have a great day, L&LL!
