Yesterday

I guess we all needed a good night's sleep...the sun has come up on a new day, and so far, it is looking pretty good.

- I got wonderfully intense wake-up snuggles while I was checking e-mail before breffis. I guess her brain reprogrammed during the overnight hours and all the transgressions of yesterday were forgotten!

- Trix's morning gelcap (BP meds, etc) went down on the first try, hiss- and growl-free.

- Appy is happy with a mini Mannie Fuds Dance AND a bonus round of walking up to a bowl of Fancy Feast, sitting down, and eating completely on her own...no MamaBean presenting or holding the plate. She didn't know I was watching...this is the first I have seen her do this in a VERY long time (except, of course, when she's hunting stray kibbles left behind by the kibbleheads).

- We had a Happy Pee Dash...yes, because I am a true L&LL MamaBean, I have been following her to the LB box every time I can and confirmed that it was a Happy Pee Dash as opposed to a Happy Crap Dash. Trix does like to put her own spin on tradition. I could tell she was getting revved up for fun and adventure, but - as my Dad says, "A wise man (girl) goes when he can, not when he (she) has to." So, she hit the box, bolted out, ran down the stairs, and speed-toured the first floor of the house! After The Dash, she settled down with the aforementioned bowl of Fancy Feast.

- Banana Meds (aka diabetic-friendly liquid amoxicillin) are in her belly and not on her fur. I tried a different technique this morning - basically the same technique I use when I assist-feed her - and it was far more successful that last night's fiasco. So far, it appears that the two ABs are not bothering her belly, but her probiotic and cranberry treats are supposed to be delivered today.

- MamaBean is meltdown free this morning. Just like everything came to a head for Trix last Sunday when she got really sick, it all came to a head for me yesterday, when getting the gigantic second AB into her became an issue. I knew we'd get through it, but I knew I had to let the meltdown run it's course too. Thank you, everyone, for all your posts and support yesterday, this past week, and the past almost-4 years!

Unfortunately, it is time for me to start getting ready for work, and I anticipate a long, drawn-out day. Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

PS - My Dad is well past his chemo crash from the last round and is feeling pretty great, too. Trix and my Dad are my two miracles....

Oh, Amy, I don't even know where to begin!
I'll start with :cool::D:cool::D!!!
You and Trix DESERVE this great morning. I am celebrating all the way across the country for you!
And your Dad feeling good is the cherry on top :bighug:
Enjoy your day!!

Trixie!!! Such a great report!! Amy, I know you are very relieved to see Trixie act like her old self and even eating on her own without you holding the bowl. I know you have been doing that for a long time so this is truly a big step forward for her.

And great news about your Dad! Hope your day flies by at work.

Oh my goodness, I sure missed a calamitous day yesterday! I'm so sorry for all that you went through, and I can totally empathize! Been there, survived that. I'm glad things are much better today - a real 180! :)

You surely are a leading candidate for Bean of the Year. Trixie is a very lucky little girl to have you as her Mama. Also happy to hear your DF is doing well. He continues to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Happy Dancing all around!!

I'm probably just being a hypersensitive bean, but she does seem a little on the "blah" side this evening. Now that she's actually had 2 doses in a row of the amoxicillin, maybe it's bothering her a bit. The probiotics came in the mail today...I have to look back at her condo where dosage was discussed. From what DH said, her appy was so-so today. She had an OK first round of dinner...nothing great, but nothing out of the ordinary, either. If necessary, I may break out the syringe. We also have to do fluids soon, too...if she's feeling yucky from the ABs, maybe that will help her feel better, too.

Hopefully she just thought she'd given you enough excitement for one day or if it is the ABs then the probiotics do the trick and there'll be another Happy Pee Dance in the morning.

Ahh ....Amy I am so very sorry for the past week you and Trixie have endured. I have not been on here in about 3 weeks (due to bad colds my husband and I have had) and I feel so horrible for all you have been going through.

How stressful for the both of you. I can not even imagine having to get 6 Pill Pockets down Monet or Picasso! (Currently I only have to get 2 PPs down them each and that's hard enough) You are doing such an awesome job taking such good care of Trixie! Your meltdowns the past couple of days were understandable with everything you have going on. You really are a super woman !!!

Hopefully the banana flavored AB technique will get easier for you and Trixie.
I hope as the evening goes on that Trixie will feel lots better!

As for you...I think you really have earned that glass or 2 of some adult beverage :)
Sending you tons of :bighug::bighug::bighug: and hope the sun will be shinning brightly for you and Trixie tomorrow!!!

hoping tonight is just a moment of being off and that Trixie will be back doing the Happy Pee Dash by now. Sounds like all this morning was really great! Sending you a big hug - you are a trooper, amy, and you're like the center of the universe holding your dad and Trixie together. I vote for that glass of wine and hope you have another good night's sleep tonight!

:bighug:

Aw, Amy. I was so excited when I read your initial post and saw what a great morning it was for you two. I'm so sorry to hear that Trix is not feeling well tonight. I know it's overwhelming, but you're doing an incredible job with her.

I'm sending lots of prayers for her, your dad, and you, too. Hang in there! :bighug:

She's now on patrol for fun and (forbidden) fuds..she's feeling OK! Gotta remember that, like any other living critter - much less one on a couple ABs - she can have some ups-n-downs....

She was just a little blah earlier...she wasn't behaving unwell to the point of setting of my crazy helicopter worrier mamabean radar.
