I can add a little light to what I've been told in the past .... especially when I first got here.
The first year I had quite a few people pm me for help and they would express frustration with tr forum.
Their complaint was they didn't feel like they fit in, they felt like the tr group was cliquish.
I straddled the fence because I could see both sides. It took me a while to feel welcome too. I felt like the "scared" individuals were too sensitive to criticism and often saw criticism when there wasn't any.
The tr forum can't relate because they would have to walk in the relaxed forums "shoes".
They didn't see themselves that way.
kinda like the in crowd vs the "not in" crowd.
I don't know what it is about me that had so many pm me about it , I try to convey as much compassion as I can in my words. But for some reason,
I attracted the frustrated folks.
I can name two who I succeeded in convincing that they would be welcome and they did finally join and stay a while.
( Shai..... Scratchie's Mom.... because I believe both would be fine with me mentioning their name) The others, not so much.
I often found myself sending pm's to others to encourage the stragglers, and try to help me make them feel welcome.
And when I asked, everyone delivered.
still some of the individuals came for a while but have disappeared.
I think what I'm hearing now is that the former relaxed group misses having a spot where they don't have to sift thru everyone else to find each other.
They liked their 4 or 5 condos in one spot where they could support each other instead.
They have been shuffled back into the whole deck of cards.
I know I had often just visited with tr forum and main forum when I get online..... and only once in a while did I go over and see what was happening
in relaxed. I think they felt like they had their own special corner and they knew they could get additional help when needed by posting elsewhere.
That's my take on the adjustment as I read all the comments.
I also think that the change is to try to help those who are over on facebook to find the fdmb easier to use.
I've looked over there and I don't want to post over there. It's seems there are too many not advising so well and there isn't anyone to oversee at all.
that may just be me since I don't like facebook anyway.
