Im in the UK and it seem like zobaline is going to be expensive and take a long time to arrive. I'd like to get charly started on something similar asap.

I've order these B12 tablets that I saw on another thread
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09K46GQ77?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

A couple of questions:

these i think are human tablets, are they ok to give to a cat? i'm wondering about extra ingredients, bulking agents etc that supplements contain. is there anything i need to be aware of?

i think zobaline also has folic acid? is there any particular folic acid uk people have used?

what is the dosage? and what is the recommended dosage based on? are there any studies or is it just the dosage recommended by the zobaline manufacturers?

B-12 is a water soluble vitamin so you can't overdose your cat on it. Any the body can't use is just peed out.

The usual dosage is 3-5mg (or 3000-5000mcg) once a day, but we've had people give it twice a day too without any problem.

Methyl B-12 is Methyl B-12. It's the same compound for humans and animals so human supplements are fine for our cats.

If you want to add the folic acid you can buy them at a supermarket or pharmacy
I couldn't find the 200 mcg like in the Zobaline so I just bought the 400 mcg and cut them in half and crushed them up

great thanks. so any folic acid tablets will do? I don't have to worry about anything else thats in them?
this one for example
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Folic-Acid-400mcg-Pregnancy-Tiredness/dp/B0CZ7HTZ4F/
lists the following ingredients which seem fairly typical:
Folic Acid 400mcg, Bulking Agents (Micro Crystalline Cellulose, Di Calcium Phosphate), Folic Acid, Anti Caking Agents (Magnesium Stearate, Silica Dioxide).

I can only find 800 mcg folic acid tablets where I am  I just cut them in half (more or less) to give my cat 400 mcg.

re-location I'm sure I read on a sticky here somewhere not to give location for security reasons?

You can post your country if you don't feel comfortable sharing more detailed information.

thank you:) everything is on its way now!

You're welcome, :cat:
You can put UK just so if members might suggest a certain food or whatever you might be looking for they will know you are from the UK and might be able to help you find what you are looking for
It's up to you :cat::cat::cat: maybe you were reading this we strongly advise that you never post your full name, telephone number, email address, or exact address on the board.
@DavidJ
A lot of members have put where they live such as Switzerland, Netherlands, etc
