Hi everyone,
Mitsy (my diabetic/Cushing's Disease cat) has severe muscle wasting in her back legs. It was suggested by someone on here to use Zobaline in case any was caused by neuropathy and also add egg white powder to her dinner. I've been doing it about two months now and have seen a little improvement (in fact she jumped on the couch tonight which hasn't happened in awhile). I know this is mainly a symptom of her Cushing's but I was wondering, do people use Zobaline long term? Or do they just use a bottle (60 pills) and then discontinue use? I know most diabetics show great improvement with Zobaline so I didn't know if people stopped it once the cat improved, or if the cat would go back to having neuropathy once the pills were stopped, causing it to be a long term supplement. Same question with the egg white powder.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't used zobaline (mainly because I don't have it where I live) but one of my cyvies is getting B12 and folic acid ( basically zobaline) because a problem of hyperaldosteronism that was (well more like is ) causing her to lose a lot of muscle ( and weight in general), and as far as I know the B complex can be taken indefinitely specially if what's causing the problem hasn't been corrected.

As far as egg white powder, I use egg whites ( again no powder where I live ) as part of all my kitties regular diet and it is a very good source of high quality protein ( kidney and diabetes friendly)

I used it for Frosty for a month and after I noticed improvement I stopped. As long as her kidneys are functioning well, i don’t think giving it would hurt. However, if cost is an issue then you can try stopping to see how she does without it. Glad it’s working for her. ❤️
