Hey everyone Ziggy is on a new plan as of IM visit yesterday! We are attempting to switch his dexamethasone INJ to every other day ! He started eating well again and it’s been hard for me to say no so unfortunately his AMPS was a little compromised he’s at 225 BG for AMPS although he ate about an hour prior to poke. I should still move forward with regular dose though right ? He did not get his steroid shot last night either and he did so bad on rayne clinical nutrition I had to put him back on his I/d dry to appease his IBD so thats the factor that’s throwing me off… he will be transitioned to a different food. A home cooked diet we had prepared just for him,and his multiple conditions, by a nutritionist. Just waiting on everything to get here (the meal completer and kitchen scale)
 
Hi Gen, sorry for the late response. I hope you gave the shot? Not giving food 2 hours before the shot is especially important when they start seeing lower numbers because you don't want to shoot based on a higher number that is on account of food. At a BG of 225, it is okay.

I hope the new meal plan given by the IM takes care of all his issues. :bighug:

That happens to all of us every now and then. You could just note in your SS that it was a furshot or a partial furshot if you think so insulin got in.

Thank you I’ll make note of it on the SS I don’t think much got in =[

I’ll attempt to get some extra tests today I wanted to see how skipping the dexamethasone INJ to every other day would affect him anyway, he had such a rough day at the vets yesterday we were there for 6 whole hours so I’m gonna let him relax a little and do a +3 amps is that okay ?
