I spoke last week with the nutritionist at the company that sells Young Again and he was a pretty emphatic salesman for the product - not surprising, of course.

He insisted over and over that if I feed Jester YA and nothing but he'll be in remission within no time. He was so freakin' insistent that I began to feel like I was talking to a snake oil salesman.

So the question for anyone who would like to chime in:

Has anyone here had an actual honest-to-goodness remission after switching to YA?

I do credit ya for helping cc into remission the first time. When I started feeding it her numbers immediately improved and she was in remission after about a month. (4 months after starting insulin). She stayed in remission for a year.

Not quite the same this time around. 8 months in and not close to remission yet. My feeding hasn't changed from last time.

That is what I do not like at all about Young Again. I believe they over state how magnificent and all-healing their food is. I would argue that if someone switched their cat from something higher in carbs to something with almost no carbs, it could help them go into remission. I do not think that it has to be Young Again specifically. Also, they act like there are no negative effects at all to feeding an all dry food diet if it does not have carbs, and according to Dr Pierson, that is not true. I think they give us a good option for a dry food without the carbs, but I can do without the 'snake oil salesman' stuff!
