? X-rays how to? Cat sneezed blood

Can anyone please advise how to go about having an x-ray for a diabetic cat? My vet says Taco (cat) needs to fast (no food & no injection) the night before and the morning of the x-ray.

I’m very concerned to not give him any food or insulin for that time.

does anyone please know Of alternatives?
Taco sneezed blood last night and he had done that about a month ago then was on Azrithromycin and that stopped it.

I don’t understand that. My cats have had X-rays and never were fasted. Are you sure it’s an X-ray? Maybe they do it from inside the mouth and would have to sedate for that.

Follow the vets instructions.
No food at, equals also no insulin needed.
It's for Maximun Safety. Of Taco's Life.
So they don't risk he ends up in a sudden hypo.
And with no food in system, less stomach things to throw up if that would happen during the sedation and examination.

Thank you yes one vet said fasting and another vet said a little water and half the insulin dose which the latter freaked me out. I would never want to risk giving him insulin without any food thank you!

Fasting would be required for two circumstances. One is that abdominal area is being x rayed. You want to have the stomach and intestines/colon empty to not obscure other areas on the abdominal cavity. The other wo8uld be if anesthesia is required to perform the x ray.
