Hi, I just went to the pharmacy and picked up syringes. The box looks identical however it says 8mm instead of 6mm. I use the ReliOn brand. Can I still use these? I am out and the pharmacy is probably closed.

The exact reading is
previous needles -
6mm x 31G (15/64" length needle x 0.25mm) 3/10mL Syringe
new needles -
8mm x 31G (5/16" length needle x 0.25mm) 3/10mL Syringe

Arrrgh.

The only difference is the length of the needles. The first one is 6mm or 15/16 inch long needles. The second one is a little longer at 8mm (5/16 inch)

Needle length is just preference. Most FDMB members use 5/16 inch needles for their cat. I occasionally use 1/2 inch needles for my cat. As long as the needle length works to get the insulin in without a fur shot, and the syringes are U100 3/10cc then use it :)

I use the same ones, the shorter ones. I keep a photo of the box in my photo camera roll so when I pick them up I always check at the counter (because I know I’d forget )
