Harley's numbers have been dropping, last week they were spiking. I'm confused, would the food change at the same time as her insulin start date be making that big of a difference? How long should we wait to go back to vet for them to review her progress? Haven't given her any insulin for 2 days now.

Changing to a low-carb wet food diet can make a big difference. Some cats can be diet-controlled. Harley is doing great. If you go 14 days without needing to give any insulin, that is considered remission. Can't you just share the numbers with your vet? Why would you need to take her in?

Wow that’s really good. Looks like Harley just need a change of diet. Did you change to high protein low carbs food?
If his number keeps low without insulin, he is heading towards remission. You have to keep testing for 2 weeks. Good luck!

Thank you, I didn't know how long to wait on the numbers, this helps a bunch!! I will continue checking her numbers and then call the vet after the 14 days if she stays low. I'm crossing my fingers :)

We just switched from the Hills md or cd to the Fancy Feast Pate. She started to not eat the vet prescribed diet so we changed her food at the same time and she has done really well so far.

Most of us feed the FF pate. Usually cats don’t like the prescribed diet.
