Withhold food before testing?

I believe that i saw on this forum to withold food for two hours before testing because it might affect the numbers. But several people on another group said not to. Confused.

We recommend withholding food for 2 hours before doing a preshot test. You don't want to have food influencing BG number when you're deciding if the dose you're about to give is too high/low.

Maybe the confusion is that, with harsher insulin, you need to feed before giving the shot - just in case the insulin has a harsh onset. Not necessary with ProZinc - lots of people give the shot while the kitty is deep into his meal. With all insulin types, you do want to withhold food for 2 hours before the am/pm shot to be sure you are shooting a number not influenced by food.
