My cat Zach will not eat. He has been sick since Thursday. I will say that Thursday he ate a very small amount throughout the afternoon/evening. I took him to his regular vet Thursday evening. They did blood work and everything came back normal, including no pancreatitis. They gave anti nausea med. I got it into him on Friday, and he seemed a little bit perkier Friday evening. He ate a few times, small bites but enough that I felt happy with. He is weak and laying around. Weak when he walks. He comes out every now and then to drink. It is now Saturday 12:30pm and Zach has not eaten today. I tried to give him the anti nausea med in the lickable treat again, he won't touch it. I also tried a piece of cheese. I've tried his regular pate, dry kibble, his treats, lickable treat, tuna. He won't eat. He is not hypo as I have been testing. He's also not any higher than typical for him. He's very clearly unwell but I don't know what's wrong, I don't know how to help him. Andi don't know at what point do I decide it's time for ER vet.

Edited to add: the spreadsheet is not updated as I haven't been recording digitally but I do regularly test still.
 
I am sorry Zach is not eating or feeling well, you say his labs came out normal, there must be something going on that the vet might have missed, I remember back in mid May Corky was going thru similar things he stopped eating, and he has been tightly regulated in the low 2 digits, his BGs began to get in the mid-high yellows, the vet did Xrays all kinds of stuff he felt the tip of his ears and he ask me to do the same, he told me he had a fever, so he treated Corky for a UTI and shot antibiotic and fever medication, he said that he would start eating by night time that it was because of the fever that he was not eating, the next morning he was on the bed and licking his tooshie, and I saw gooie red stuff coming out, I panicked and took him immediate to the vet , it happened that the antibiotic burst out a full gland, he cleaned it out, I am saying this because cats hide illnesses really well, touch the tip of his ears if you find them unusual hot, it may be that something is wrong, you can always ask the vet to give you MIRATZ, is an appetite stimulant it works almost immediately by next feeding, a tiny tube that goes a long way, a tip of a pin size amount rubbed in the inner fold of the ear, exchanging ears for 4-5 days should do the trick, use a glove when you apply it, or you might eat all the stuff in your fridge,
I will tag a few member that have an extensive knowledge in Feline illnesses, I have been blessed to have Corky healthy as a log, besides the he will unfortunately be a lifetime diabetic, I did let you know about my experience with Corky, you are testing, there could be your answer if you begin to see changes in his BG, such as higher numbers, I am sure the right member members can contribute better to your concern, 🤗

I would see about getting him in to see his vet or the emergency vet. A cat that isn't eating can be an issue. Do you know if the vet tested for ketones? Not eating and lethargy get me concerned.

You did not fail your cat. If anything, I'm guessing your vet didn't test for ketones. You got your kitty to a professional.
