Good morning everyone,

Wiggle Worm's AMPS were back to normal this morning. He was at 261. So, I gave him 1.25 PZI. His appetite seemed to be back as well. He ate 1 1/2 cans of FF this morning. Who knows, he must have just had a bad day yesterday. He seemed like he was feeling much better this morning. He was so mad at me last night for poking his ear so many times!

I bought him some treats that were freeze-dried shrimp. When I first opened them, he loved them. Now he won't even smell them. He just turns his head. The strange thing is that all four of the other cats won't eat them either! I need to come up with a new treat idea. Any suggestions?

Henry likes Bonita tuna flakes and all 3 of my cats, Henry & 2 civvies inside and my outside TNR feral cats love freeze dried chicken treats. I order from Amazon in big packages and get free shipping.

you got that amps on just .5u?
might be time to start rethinking dose hmmmm...

Yes, I got the AMPS on that. But I don't know if you have read the history, but Wiggle Worm is in a multi-cat household. I have 4 other cats. I have to leave dry food out for them. I feed them Science Diet for Sensitive Stomach. And for the last four months I also give them Wilderness - duck dry food.

I cannot separate them. They are all like family. And when I do try to put Wiggle Worm by himself, he gets very upset and pees in the floor and cries and won't eat. He is like the Daddy of the family.

I didn't remember that you feed dry. That does make this thing so much more complicated. The Science Diet is 28% carbs. Just a few bites of that can completely skew his numbers. I am pretty amazed you have gotten the good numbers you have. Any time he eats even a little bit of the dry, it can make your spreadsheet unexplainable in terms of dose and numbers.

I assume we have given you Dr. Lisa's site, www.catinfo.org. She thinks cats with sensitive stomachs do much better on wet. I am convinced that the high carbs in Science Diet caused Oliver's diabetes. We fed it to him for years and he kept getting more fat and more unhealthy.

Wiggle Worm also possibly has a tumor, right?

If you really can't change the food, I would say we shoot for maintenance - keeping him in good numbers as they come, but not being surprised if he throws us curves.

I do agree with Lori. Depending on your pmps, we might reduce the dose.

I can't remember the name of the brand...Susie and moochie I think feed a lower carb dry...maybe 13-16 carbs?
Maybe ask on health...
or could be on J&B's list.

And no, I can see why it would not be right to seperate 'Daddy' from the family. Let's find a lower carb dry k?

I have been using Wellness Core as dry back-up and it doesn't affect Maisey's numbers at all. I don't remember how low it is, but it's on Janet & Binkey's list and I think it is the lowest carb (maybe 7-13).
