For neuropathy...why do we suggest to use the methyl type rather than the regular?

A cat shelter rescue person friend of mine is doubting the need for the methyl type, saying her colleges are laughing about the suggestion and chaulking it up to "crazy natural foods people"...

what's up with that?

Thanks in advance. (cross posting on community)

The reason methyl B12 was tried in cats is that it is used in humans to treat diabetic neuropathy. There have been at least 6 clinical trials that show its effectiveness. This site is selling a product, but has links to the clinical trials.
