So, it's been a rough few days here. The whole reason I found out about whiskey's diabetes is that a few months ago he was having bloody sneezes. The dr tested him for hyperthyroidism and found out about the diabetes.
Got an xray--something was there, in that one sinus where the blood was coming from but an xray doesn't tell you what. She said he'd need a CT scan to see if it's a cancerous tumor. $1500.
I couldn't spare the money at the time so vet treated him for a sinus infection..amoxicillin. It seemed to work. He was doing well for about a month or so.
Now the bloody sneezing is back and just outright nosebleeds. It got really bad last night. He had one at 3am, 1 at 7am and 2 between then and 10:15 when I took him to the vet, crying my eyes out. I thought he would die.
Vet gave me stuff to keep him from bleeding, more amoxicillin and a tranq for if he stresses too much with the nosebleed. I'm taking his Wednesday for a CT scan.
Please send me lots of good vibes and wishes that this is NOT CANCER. I will be lost. I am hoping it's a benign polyp..my ex who's a vet tech said thet've been seeing a lot of polyps in his hospital.
