which side of ear for poking for bg?

Most people poke on the outer side of the ear. For cats with black fur, it's sometimes easier to see what you're doing if you poke on the inner side. It doesn't really matter -- whatever works.

What I do if the fur is darker but I still want to test on the outer ear, is use a tiny flashlight to shine through the ear from underneath so I can see better.
