Where to purchase Levemir? New insulin

Hi all,

Tucker has been on Vetsulin for 2 years, the entire length of his disease. His vet is now recommending a change to Levemir and suggested I purchase as a "pen" and then withdraw from the pen and inject with a U-100 syringe. Where are the best/cheapest places you have found for purchasing? I do not want a large quantity to start since this is basically a trial. I am located in Florida.

Have you tried the supply closet forum? There is someone there who sells individual pens.

I've found sometimes Walmart as nd Target sell individual pens here in FL. But they run aboit $105 a pen.

Alan is great - thats where I get my Lev. He is over in TX.

Mark's Marine also will ship it, with a prescription requested from Vet. They're so fast with their shipping and this would probably be a good time of year to do it. I think they charge a little more than Alan, but not my a lot. (From my recollection)

Places like Costco or hospital pharmacies may also sell a single pen (vs a box which contains 5 pens). If you want to buy a box, many people order their insulin from Marks Marine Pharmacy in Canada.
