Hello all! Bailey is almost ready to start on a second bottle of Prozinc and I wantd some advice as to where I should get it from. The vet is open to calling the prescription in to a reliable place if I find a good price somewhere (she usually prescribes Lantus so she doesn't carry Prozinc at the clinic). I looked at Mark's Marine Pharmacy since I've heard so much about them, but Prozinc doesn't show up when I search their site.

Any and all advice is appreciated, as always :-)

Try doing a Google search and an Amazon search.

Some places include
Drs Foster and Smith
1-800-PetMeds

I just put in a request for Foster and Smith to contact my vet so that'll work fine. I got my first bottle from the last vet so that was easy (no shipping costs - whew, does that drive the price up!), but we've moved since then. I think my new vet is great though and I'm glad she's kept us on Prozinc (even though we're having more ups then downs with it lately... I feel like that because we're at the end of the first bottle though and it might be losing some potency. What do I know though!

Thanks for the replies, BJM and Rachel!

My vet carries it- about $110 a bottle if you are also comparing prices. Let us know if you find it online for a good price :-)

Hi Kelly,

I got Hanks from the vet for $88 and the syringes for $29.

I did ask the pharmacist at Sam's Club and he told me $125. He didn't keep it in stock though.

Good luck.

I found a source from FDMB.
http://www.felinediabetes.com/pzi-sources.htm

I purchased U-40 Prozinc it from Allivet.com for $89.99.
As first time customers I received $5 off.
Overnight shipping to Corpus Christi from Florida was $33.10.
$118.09 this time / $123.09 normally.

We are full time RVers so we don't know the area. The vet we used didn't stock Prozinc.
Allivet.com contacted the prescribing vet and obtained the prescription.
They were fast and efficient and our chilled insulated box arrived by 11:45am the next day (today).
We administered our first shot tonight.

You have to be careful because some places.sell U-40 Pro Zinc and we use U-100 Pro Zinc they are very.different in the amount you use.So be.careful.Your price with.shipping is about what we pay at our vet

I just got a new bottle last week from Allivet. I am happy with them. I paid $12.00 more than Costco but I didn't have to drive the 40 something miles to town. Costco couldn't get it this time anyway.

ProZinc is always U-40.
BCP PZI can be U-40, U-50, or U-100.

I hot my Pro Zinc from the.vet.Had to buy new syringes because the PZI we had been using was U-100 and the Pro Zinc is U-40.PZI is compounded so it can come in either way.

Just a note: it is possible to use U-100 syringe with a U-40 insulin using a conversion chart.
