Babs has been on Miralax for about a month, and it's been helping. I was tapering it at vet direction (1/8 teaspoon morning/night). Her appetite started to go around Saturday (likely Cerenia) and her stools started getting firmer. She last went, just a few hard balls, yesterday am. I caught her laying in the litter box last night, as well as just sitting it once or twice. She's not spending all of time there, though, and she seems to be feeling somewhat better in general.
She has an appetite again (I adde in Mirataz Tuesday), and she ate normally yesterday and this morning, she's back to getting Miralax in her system after getting very little of anything in her Sat-Tuesday. She's also drinking plenty. I've pushed the Miralax back up to 1/4 teaspoon morning and evening. This morning, I added pumpkin to her breakfast.
I would prefer to give her time to go, but I obviously don't want to wait too long. I'm considering calling to scheduled an appt for fluids and an enema for tomorrow morning as a backup plan. In addition to the diabetes, she was diagnosed with non-obstructive GI lymphoma and likely pancreatitis.
For those of you who've dealt with constipation, how long did it take to resume normal movement, particularly after they've been off food for several days?
