? When should next blood panel be after diabetic control and antibiotics?

I have read that getting diabetes in control can improve CKD in cats, but can't find any details in terms of when to test to see that. For background, Starburst was diagnosed with diabetes and early CKD July 6th. Within the last two weeks her diabetes is "controlled" consistently. She had a blood test a week ago (so about a week or so after the glucose values were normal) and it did confirm the diabetes is controlled however showed an increase in progression of CKD. My vet thinks this may partially be due to not enough time passing in sugar regulation. She also started baytril a few days ago (coinciding with when I last gave her insulin) in case there is a latent kidney infection going on. The antibiotics were for only a week but I am trying to figure out when we should do another blood test to see if the diabetic control and antibiotics have impacted the CKD values. Two weeks? A month?
Also I am supposed to start subQs at some point but with her not on insulin right now I am hesitant to add the stress of the car ride/vet. I want to see if she can maintain with no stressors. Any advice there (her skin and coat do not indicate dehydration)?

I don't know that control over diabetes can halt the progression of CKD. While it's true that hyperglycemia and glucosuria can damage kidneys, CKD can strike any older cat. My Ruby's CKD did not show up until her glucose levels were tightly regulated, with her numbers mostly green. A blood panel showed high BUN and Creatinine in December 2020 and I had it rechecked 6 weeks later in January 2021. Even though her glucose levels are out of whack right now because of prednisolone, her CKD has become diet controlled and all kidney values lowered through switching her to a homemade raw, low phosphorus, low carb diet. She never had to get subQ.

Starburst has Creatinine going from 2 to 3.2 in a month, she is on an antibiotic for another few days just in case the increase is from an infection. She was just tested a week ago. I am trying to figure out when I should test her again to see if there is any improvement or if it is getting worse. Tanya's CKD page mention that Creatinine numbers can come down after glucose gets under control. The rate of progression has me hoping something else is contributing (she's on low phos food and a binder). I also ordered D-mannose and will be starting that on Tuesday.
