Hi,
Saoirse is in a tricky place at the moment. She is too low to receive treatment with Caninsulin because of its hallmark scary drops, but given the flare-up in her pancreatitis symptoms after only a few days without any insulin at all I think she still needs further treatment. That said, it's only my gut feel as Saoirse's mommy: the figures could show that she might be heading for remission.
I am trying to build a case to ask my vet if he will prescribe a longer-lasting insulin with less precipitous drops in its action profile, and any BG data that I could gather to support that case would be very helpful. Thanks to BJM, I've checked her BG before and after meals a couple of times to see how her pancreas responds. but is there anything else I should be checking for (apart from obviously monitoring regularly to check for any upward trend in her BG).
I would very much welcome recommendations from members.
