I am away from home today. My husband checked Skipper for his AMPS which was 333 and he gave him 1.75 units. He then checked him at +6 and he was 331. I mentioned that maybe we need to switch back to 2.25 units. He thought I meant now and he gave him 2.25 units at +6! Is there anything I need to do besides keep an I on his levels?
This round of falling of the wagon sure isn't going that well! :(
Thanks

Whoa! I'd say keep a close eye on his levels. Also his behavior...make sure he isn't acting weird. If he is, get a test right then. Does your DH have high carb food at home? Or karo syrup or honey if he needs to give that?

Make sure hubby knows where your hypo kit is and how to use it and I'd suggest testing every couple hrs at least, to be on the safe side. Because he was half way thru his cycle, he may just end up with a very long cycle, but you'll have to keep close watch on him.

If you get into a bind and there is no one on the board, go to the health board, there is always someone there that can coach you if you need it.

Rae Ann,
Will you be home at some point or is Hubby going to deal with this for the next few hours?

Thank you everyone! His tests have been 324 and 391 since the double shot as if the insulin didn't do anything. So now do I wait until 12 hours from the extra dose or do his normal AMPS which would make it 18 hours between shots?
Thanks again. I tested him as soon as I got home and then three hours after that. No strange behavior.

You should wait 12 hours from the extra dose and I would check his BG every hour. Just like you were doing a curve. That's what I'd do just to be on the safe side.
You can slowly adjust your time back to the time you were shooting if the new time is not good for your schedule.
Sounds like you very lucky that the extra insulin did not affect him!!
